Just DROSed my DE. Few ?'s

It was in really good shape. It was a $50 to DROS it. After we went to the range and rented a 1911 and put around 200 rounds though it. I really do love the 1911. But I am non the less excited about the DE.

I actually found some FP-10 I got when I first purchased my Glock.

I can't wait to shoot the DE - a little worried about it (the same way a teenager worried about loosing his virginity), but I read all the info I could find. Very strong grip, hands away from magazine, no limp wristing, modified weaver stance. Only question I have is do I lock my elbows?

He said it has an adjustable trigger - what does that mean? Can I take a screw driver and adjust the trigger pull on it? I always liked ~3.5#. And what does this product do:

    Any tips or suggestions?

Could anyone show me a size comparison between a .44Mag and a .50AE?

    Vin.

You can adjust when the trigger breaks but not the trigger pull weight.

I've never adjusted either of mine. They work just fine as they are.

The trick to shooting proficiently is practice and to do that in 50AE or even 44Mag these days you better take up reloading in a hurry.

There was an extra charge for a lock and a PPT thing. It all turned out to be around $100. To tell you the truth, I was pretty excited about the whole ordeal and I couldn't take my hands off the DE until they yanked it away from me.

Why did it cost $100 to do a PPT even with a lock?

            +1

Did they make you take the handgun safety cert test again, and then make you do it again and again? That doesn't sound right unless your buddy shipped the gun to the shop instead of meeting you there to handle the paperwork.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

My buddy was right there with me. They made me buy a lock, they said they would give it to me a long with the gun after then 10 days are up. Then there was handling charges I guess. Then the DROS and I believe that was $50.

Did I get ripped off by the shop? I might be mistaken, I do know that it was above $50 though. I did not need to take the HSC again.

check these threads out. Without knowing specifics, I would say you did indeed get ripped off.

You've been here long enough to learn the laws and you still chose to be go to a shop that doesn't know the laws? Above that, you allowed them to victomize you. Why? We all know that $35 is the MAXIMUM PPT transfer fee allowed by law. Also, yes, under fedral law, a lock is required to accompany the handgun from the store. But, you can provide your own lock to fullfill this requirement. A safe affidavit will fullfill the California law regaurding locks. So, I hope part of that $100 included a bottle of K-Y!

Did the $50 include $25 for the HSC?
