Yea. Ranges. Never been. Not planning on going. I like shooting alone. There is only one range, maybe two within driving range that rent handguns, and I don't plan on visiting anytime in the forseeable future.

You have much to learn and it can't be learned by asking others.
You really need to shoot a bunch of different guns before you can decide what you like best.
Plan on each of you having your own guns too, because I bet her hands are different than yours.

I agree with ar-15, you got to try 'em before you buy 'em. It is the only way to know if you are really going to like 'em and what fits your hand best.
I find some S&W N models fit better then some K models and vice versia

Went to RCGX today. What a nice place.

Handled a used Beretta 92, a used S&W 4006.

Handled a new Sig p226 and a new Beretta 96 inox.

Liked the 4006. Scuffed up SS finish near the muzzle perhaps holster wear, but still nice looking.. There were burr marks inside the slide adjacent to the chamber. Not sure if thats normal wear.

Dis not like the p226. Felt awkward. And too pricey.

Liked the Berettas. Not sure if I want one though.

RCGX is an awesome place. I'll be back in there soon i'm sure!

Well, if you didn't like the 226, then the 229 might not fit you too well either. It is a very nice pistol, the 229. However, 229ST is not on the approved list, so you'll have to find one PPT. (And if anyone has one for sale, please let me know. )

The 92F Inox is very pretty, but large. Make sure your GF tries it on for size first.

The Beretta 96inox is still on my mind. It felt nice and was a nice looking pistol. I think it felt the best. The S&W was a little fat in my hands. Musta been made for double stack of .40.

Price tag on the Beretta seemed high. 7-something new.

I owned a SW 910 for all of about 1 afternoon before I decided it was a pile of junk. I ditched it and quickly used the extra cash to purchase a Sig P220R. For my 9mm plinker gun I picked up a Glock 19. Best decision ive made to date. Me personally, im all about function over form. silver, black, green it doesn't matter to me as long as its of good build quality, and is somewhat accurate. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Looking at guns and listening to other folks is much like dating. Handling and shooting the gun yourself is more like marriage and gives you a better picture of what life will be like.

I had the S&W model 411 which I think is the same as the 410 minus 1 round in the mag. Its was just ok. I was never that accurate with it. It was sold within a pretty short time. This was a few years back.

I don't think i'll be getting a browning hipower, although i'm open to it. Aren't they single-action?

Been browsing and saw a couple other nice models:

S&W 5906 and 4006. Very nice-looking pistols. Anyone have any experience or knowledge with these?

I have a 4006. It has a trigger only a mother could love and fairly snappy recoil. Maybe a .380 or 9mm is a better choice.
