    delayed dros?

So, we go to pick up my lady's handgun and for some reason it has been delayed by the attorney general. She has a clean background since 18 but has screwed up before she was 18. would any of the pre-18 stuff prohibit her from a firearm purchase? I thought pre-18 stuff doesnt count against you and she tried calling but it the number kept telling her that they are closed on the weekends and that to call back during the week. Today is thursday which I think is not a weekend day i think.

Depends on the pre-18 stuff. I think it's violent misdemeanor of felony conviction or weapons related crimes that prevent firearm ownership. I think if any of those commited before turning 18 would still apply.

So, my gf just called me and said that she was able to get through. This is what happened, She got some charges for assault or threatening some girl from school and some felony drug charges that were dropped because she was proven innocent. But they have to call the officers involved with the assualt charges and speak with them before releasing the handgun but they told her that she is not a prohibited person.

A violent crime can stick with you. Have a friend who punched a cop at 17yo (drunk). tried to buy a shotgun 30 years later and was denied.

Damn! that sucks. They told her she still illegable but needs to get cleared. I know that a pre 18 record can be completely and totally removed. The senator I spoke with told me that it can be done.

LOL, hell no! banks dont hold or give up enough cash to get in and out fast enough. A ccw will not help out in a bank robery lol. Yeah, we both screwed up before but we have learned from the stupidity in our choices. I do really NEED a CCW but I WANT one just in case. Plus, the career im pursing is very strict and the nursing board of california is super strict on ANY conviction, minor or not, your license can be revoked. So, it behooves me to not F around anymore and grow the F up. Her too, cuz she is going to the same school as soon as im done.

                    well, do you own guns?

It's always better to be armed at home rather than not armed at all.

Not sure if this is true, but I heard that prohibited persons are not aloud to even shoot guns at ranges, but self defense is ok. You might wanna check that too. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If she is a Prohibited person she can't be around guns or ammunition at all.

Serious problems. One incident recently discussed here involved a Prohibited person going to the range with friends. He got caught and had to do a mandatory 5 years. (or something similar). Apparently even the JUDGE has no choice in the mandatory sentencing. Not good.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

I use to be prohibited but after my probation I went and bought a handgun. MY lady is trying to buy the same one too. I agree with being armed illegal than not be armed legally. I would rather go to jail for gun possesion than to sit there and watch my family or myself get hurt. F that! We are just trying to do things legally even though its hard to stay legal with so many restrictions upon us citizens. While on probation, I always wondering what would happen if I used a gun in self defense and it was completely legit except of course im a prohibited person. Also, what would happen if im out on the street as a prohibited person and used the gun once again in self defense. Would I just get nailed for the gun possesion or would I get nailed for murder because I am a prohibited person.

I understand completely and I wish you a speedy dismissal of her record.

However, you should keep any weapons in a safe, or locked container.

I have a lil girl so a combonation safe is a must! Main reason I was so quick to get a gun is because we have had wangsters jump over our backyard wall and into our yard. our dogs alerted us of intruders and I got out a huge knife and they ran away. Some cases I knew where they were at and cops arrived and did nothing. So, I dont trust cops in my area to protect me or my family. Also, had a magnum round fly through my lil brothers window and miss his head only because he dicided to lay back down on his bed to stretch. the round went through the wall and finally was stopped by my guitar amp. Our baby grib was infront of the amp, so you cant image how furious I was. These punk *** kids also frequently graffiti local houses and even tagged up our wall and two of our cars but they did with clear coat, those pansies. If I do catch one on the act of tagging, I will nab him and it will be the worst day of his life.

                              Are "wangsters" Asian gangsters?

People like you definitely need guns to play neighborhood vigilante, that makes the streets much safer for us civilians.

I'm surprised you are legally allowed to own a gun after reading everything you've written here so far. Don't push your luck trying to arm your vigilante-partner-girlfriend as well.
