ammo question

I have a silly question. I got a bunch of these reloads at Evan's range a few months ago while i was taking my PC832 course. Is it safe to shoot these ammo through my glock 17? How can you tell if it is lead or not? I heard that you not suppose to shoot lead ammo through a glock. Is this right? thanks

RNC= Round Nose Copper. They are copper-plated lead, should be OK to shoot.

you should not shoot reloads through a stock glock pistol.
anything you buy from evan is over priced anyway.
you can buy WWB 9mm for $12 per 100 at walmart.

I bought around 500 rounds back then and went through around 200 rounds during the firearm course. I still have around 300 rounds left. I dont know what to do with it. I know it is way overpriced. I just want to know if a stock glock can handle it or not.

I'm no expert, but my 2 cents ... I haven't used range reloads in my guns in over 12 yrs... but if I were to use some now, I would personally sure use them in my "disposable" stock Glocks first rather than in, say, a custom smithed HiPower or 1911.

The first pistol I ever bought many many many moons ago was a Glock 19. I put tons of range reloads through it and it kept on trucking. Still have it today.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it, I'd just shoot them and then move on to the joy of BULK factory ammo pricing!

Sure you can shoot reloads thru your Glock, been doing that for years. You can even shoot leads just make sure you clean the barrel after 100 rounds or so to prevent over leading.

I generally stay away from someone else's reloads. But if you already have it, i'd' go ahead and shoot it up.

Just my two cents. I found Justice to be poorly made reloads. The 357 bullet's worked their the way loose enough to tie up my revolver. This was my experience with their ammo. My recomendation is don't use then. But nobody ever listened to me. Use them at your own risk.

What bullet did they used? Lead or FMJ?

TWO squibs in 1000 rounds of 9mm (no powder, primer only)?!?! ONE squib is unacceptable enough!

I've had good luck with over 4-5000 rounds fired in Miwall reloads though.

I shot 200 rounds of Ammo Bros 9mm reloads a few weeks ago. Out of the 200, I think 3 didn't fire. I bought 1000 rounds of Miwall reloads the following week and haven't had a dud.

YAY! Finally someone who will listen to me

As to the guy with the reloads- if you have a Glock 9mm- SHOOT IT UP! I've shot +P+ rounds from my Glocks with no problem at all- the 9mm's are built like tanks. The hirtenberger +P+ FMJ will defeat a IIA vest up close

RC3 - Go ahead shoot them, just don't do double taps in case there are duds in there. Now you might consider rolling your own.

there is a guy id recommend for reloads..he used to supply our range and is very good. is name is Harry, 818 548 2463, although im not sure if i can post this here. ( MODS, if this is bad.. please delete) rounds appear to be slightly underloaded, for the safe side.. ive put thousands of .40 through my g23. it eats it up like mad.

i know ive told this story before but, at our range, we calculated one of our g17's to have gone through over 800,000 rnds with reloads. this number is assuming that each time it was rented it only had one box of 50 through it, which of course, is not the case.... and still functioning 100%. i put thousands through without any cleaning through mine and experimented, for jamming.. did this from 2001 through 2005 no cleaning in this time frame.. maybe ~2500 rnds. and no jams.

theres no way id spend match ammo prices to fire through a handgun.. i cant justify it.

and thats all i gotta say about that.
