Why cheap out if you're going to be buying a bare bones Kimber. I went home to TN and came back with this. $1400 out the door, stock with $300 Crimson Trace laser grips. So that's $1100 for a sweet looking pistol with night sights and other accessories.

yup bought my kimber after 2 close friends got one, after i shot theres, i bought one fr myself LOL....like i said in previous threads, zero issues with function...i just didnt like the shiny black finish after much use...so i got mine re-finished

Thanks man. It was either that or a Glock 19, and I can always get one of those. I had to have the Covert II because I loved the brown frame and desert digi camo laser grips. I turned 21 about 6 months ago and I bought a GSG 1911 .22 the day after my birthday. It's meh.

I'm jealous! I was looking at the Covert too, couldn't find a deal that good. Congrats!

The local gun store had one for $1600 + $35 in fees + tax on top, but it was the 3" barrel. Nooope. Not happening. I really hate California gun laws. I've got an AR15 back home but I refuse to make it Cali legal. I have 6 30 round Pmags.

I got the kimber custom II TLE even though I got mixed reviews, I said F' it and got it. It is such a nice gun and my girl is also gonna buy one. She is in the process right now.

I can only speak for what I own: Kimber Custom II. Bought mine used so I didn't have to worry about the break in period. Haven't had a problem yet. Thing shoots darts. Downside is no night sights like on the Sig 1911.

Actually, you can get the custom II with tritium night sights. It's basically a TLE II without the frontstrap checkering. Runs a little more than a stock KC II.

I vote for the kimber. If you are into night sights and frontstrap checkering, go with a kimber TLE II.

(When i bought my custom II, i got mine without night sights. After a couple of days, i changed my mind and wanted to get the TLE II. My gun store said they could give me the night sights on the custom, but if i changed to a TLE i'd have to do a brand new DROS and another 10 day wait. I opted for the sights because i don't really need FS Checkering.)

Colt XSE is under $1000 and doesn't need a break in period
