    Sight upgrades

So I have the trigicons on my 1911 and work well for me in an indoor range but when I shoot outdoor it takes a while for my eyes to focus on the front sight, I might just be retarded or something. Anyway, what sights do you guys use or recommend? I was looking at the Sure Sights but nothing available for my pistol just yet...

Painting the rear sight blade black will make focusing on the front sight easier...it will also make acquiring sight alignment faster

Mepro looks like it has a bigger tube then trijicon. I have trijicon on both my xd9 and loaded so I can't speak for the mepro.

I was just thinking about that, I covered the rear dots with electric tape and noticeably focused faster on the front sight. I might just sharpie the rear sights for now as a cheap fix for the issue.

I was also looking at the Trigicon "HD" night sights, maybe I can just purchase the front sight by itself or will that not line up correctly?

I run 10-8 sights on my pistols. Blank rear with u-notch. Love this set up n makes picking up that sight really easy.

Nothing wrong with you eyes, outdoors, night sights are just a white-ish front dot.

Fiber front (red or green) is the way to go for outdoors.
It will work good indoors as well.

Truglo, makes a combo night/fiber sight.

+1 on the Tru Glo TFO's (Tritium Fiber Optic)
I have front and rears on my guns. The come in red, green, yellow.

Me personally i'd go with the heinie sights for the 1911 or any semi auto pistol...i have the truglo tfo sights on my glock and i love them but i think the heinie's are bit better...

I like black serrated rear and FO front sights on my 1911, which I only shoot mainly outdoors.

                      Those work very well

I've tried night sights (slow), plain sights (hard to focus), painted signs (rubs off after awhile), fiber optic sights (not durable)...

None of them have have been better to me than a simple gold bead and plain black, serrated rear sight. Fast, bright and durable. I have them now on all my guns.

I like heinies too but haven't tried any of the u-notch models out there, they sound interesting as well.

Best handgun sight in the world:

Drop-in for Glocks, custom-fit for anything else right now.

You don't have to worry about focusing them. Total non-issue - because they're meant to be used *without* focusing on the front sight. You focus on the target, leave these blurry, they still work.
