    Colt Woodsman History

    Hi,

I would like to know more about Colt Woodsman history. A friend of mine told me that it was carried by US Military high officials. Not sure.

    Thanks.

I haven't done a bunch of research on the Woodsman but this would be a good place to start.

Colt Automatic Pistols is dedicated to collectors and enthusiasts of military and commercial Colt pistols, Colt revolvers, Colt firearms and accessories.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I believe some were used in training.
Not sure about carried by high officials, seems too small a caliber.
      Usually a Colt 1903? in 32 caliber.

My grandfather bought a Colt Woodsman around 1934, 6". We haven't found that gun yet, he thinks it was stolen. Man I want to find that.

As for high officials I only know of one photo of Patton with a Woodsman as backup, that was likely his personal weapon.

Kodachrome is correct though, the Colt 1903 was issued (and it's sister gun the .380 1908 I believe).
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.
