Just wondering how your handguns with lights are working as far as reliability with shooting them at the range. I want to get a light but have noticed several people at local ranges have many issues with there pistols that had lights mounted. Issues like jamming, FTF, FTE, etc.

The .40 caliber glocks for many agencies and also my own had some major issues. Is it most of them though? No, not by a longshot, but the issue still crops up from time to time.
Most people found new mag springs helping, but it didn't fix the issue entirely. -
My Glock 17 (3rd Gen) with an Insight M3 runs fine. I always run at least 1 mag through it with the light on when I take it to the range. The issue seems to most pronounced on 40 cal polymer hand guns."Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." I run a X300 under a stock Glock 22. After 1,000's of rounds down range, no problems.
When I get a hold of Glocks that have been having issues with a mounted light, it usually comes down to routine maintenance or aftermarket modifications. Clean the pistol and put the factory parts back in and problem solved...usually. G17's may have an issue with older magazine followers that need to be changed out. Though a smaller sample size, I have not seen problems with other stock pistols using factory ammo. If one starts changing springs and down loading ammo...well that's on the owner to balance it all out.Comment

I have a tlr-1 on my 9mm xdm. Shot 250-300 rounds with it on and no gun failures at all. Went home the tlr wouldn't turn on but I messed with the batteries and it turned back on.sigpicComment

Can't imagine the military would approve of him ninja'ing into their base and stealing one of their M9's, assuming they still issue them, and stealing another weapon mounted flashlight, assuming they issue them at all, and testing it out on their base.
I'm with you on the end result though. Free guns are always a win.

What kind of gun do you have and what type of gun did the people you speak about the range have who were getting the malfunctions? I have an X300 mounted on my P226 and it's never had an issue. My colleagues have X300s on their G17s, G19s and 1911s-- all no issues.Just wondering how your handguns with lights are working as far as reliability with shooting them at the range. I have a TLR-1s shared between three Glocks of different calibers; 9MM, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG and have yet to have a FTE, FTF, or Stovepipe situation.
PandaLuv had a issue with his SIG SP2022 and a TLR-1 that kept on failing to return to battery:
Just wanted to point out (before I start a war) that Weaponlights and FTE/FTF/Stovepipe situations can happen to many guns, not just SIGs or Glocks.Comment
