I've got a RIA in 38 super and it has functioned flawlessly. You might want to consider it before dropping that kind of coin. If you insist on those two brands, colt.

Ive been looking for a Colt 38 Super and can't find one to save my life. Let me know if you happen to find one or a shop that can order and do a SSE.

Try Tracy Rifle & Pistol, that's how I got my Colt in 38 super.

The Kimber 38 super I believe is an alloy frame while the Colt is steel.
Picked up a parked Springfield awhile ago, paid full price.
Always on the look out for 38 supers.
                Good Luck
