They've been very helpful to me, I just go in and ask nicely and they've always been helpful. You gotta realize that Walmart keeps the bare minimum of people they need working at any point in time. Just be patient. If you act like a asshat, you're going to get treated like one. Sounds like you're expecting Nordstrom level service lol. It's not going to happen.

Nordstrom, nope. Expectations are clear about the level of service to expect .. however my experience with a couple assistance managers was far from what I'd expect with any retailer ... inclusive of Kmart, Homdepot, etc .. even OSH (as it gets ready to close its doors). With that stated, the experience with the management at Mountain View was superb.

I'll be happy to provide some insight offline, however a few weeks ago, an assistant mgr changed the "rules of engagement" ... real-time infront of 20+ people .. I'm sure it benefited many ... which is goodness .. however when making up rules, it's good to practice a bit of change mgt ... ironically, he indicated an employee who ran the dept was no longer leading the effort .. and interesting the person was smiling at the counter the very next day..

again, my view -- I'm sure it's someone cousin or brother who opted to show-case his positional power.

I hope you're not referring to the famous "walmart hottie", who's only fault is that no matter how friendly I am, she completely fails to see past my being so much older, a bit out of shape, unattractive, and married... and doesn't flirt back.
I've gotten used to it though... really pretty white girls have been looking right through me my whole life! lol!

In general, I don't think any of the walmart folks at either location are being paid enough to handle crazies like us every day, so I try to be extra nice.

Sometimes it really pays off... I got a hot tip on watermelons at Mtn. View the other day, and that sucker turned out to be tasty as heck. I should have bought more, but they don't stack so well.

Alright. Enough. I feel like I'm reading Dr. Phil's blog. Keep the contributions and updates coming. Lol! Its seems like the ones looking for ammo and dont score several times are the unhappy ones (especially those looking for 22LR). Keep trying and you will eventually score. Dont give up. I'm sure that the 1000ct 5.56 Mt.V score was a persistent gentleman who didnt give up. Oh...and try not to flip. Y'all know who you are. ;-)

.. wasn't the "hottie" .. the 1st 10-15 people in line, I'm sure remember it .. it was a weekend day, I believe Sunday. The assistant mgr's name was "Ernie" I believe.

Simply put...treat the employees with respect. I know for a fact that many calgunners and non calgunners scored ammo this way.

in addition to employee/customer relations, Id like to also echo that respect (as has been pointed out several times now) with customer/customer relationships goes a long way... I witnessed last week an Asian dude near the front of the line asking all the folks in line (including the last person) what ammo they were looking for ... I'll always be asking this person what they need! KARMA...

Stopped by Wally at 1ish... NADA, then Dicks about an hour ago... no 22lrs or 9s... did see 223s, then stopped by Big5 San Ramon (Weds is there shipment day) - they had some 1 box of Winchester 9s, Several Fiocci 9s, and lots of 223s but pricey compared to Wallyworld
