Is that the G.I. or Tactical? If its a Tac $450 is a very good price. Enjoy the new pistol.

Yep, probably sleeps with his Les Baer.Comment

An RIA is an RIA...notice I said twice they are fine guns.
Yet the class warfare crowd feels the need to elevate the RIA to something it is not and attack anyone who dares to speak the truth.
RIA = a good (the best?) sub $500 1911...
Nothing more, nothing less.

I wonder how easy it would be to polish up that slide and frame to make it look nicer. I fondled a couple RIA's before I got two sig 1911s and a GSG 1911 .22 on saturday...
Im kind of thinking they would be great to play with durcoat or cerakote and I dont think that it would take much to polish them up and make them look pretty!
How do you like the crimson trace? I sold my M&P to a friend and he wants the crimson trace grip for it, Ive never used oneOriginally posted by FranklincollectorIt was administered with a toothpick and placed on a street taco.Comment

The looks improved so much with the new grips on his G.I. model that I valued its looks at $1187, which is almost as much as the higher end Springfield pistols. Now we just need to find a buyer!Originally posted by FranklincollectorIt was administered with a toothpick and placed on a street taco.Comment

Who pissed in your Wheaties this morning. I am sure everyone knows that grips dont make it a $1000 dollar gun, dude thinks it doesn't look like a cheap G.I. model with the new grips; in fact I know what he means after making some custom scales for my buddys Springfield G.I. model. The wood grips make it look like a model T, the grips we put on really improved its aesthetic appeal.

Just goes to show you it takes all types...Don't even get started on the stag grips, ebony, ivory, mammoth, sterling, pewter, and god know what other types of grips that are out there.Last edited by keenkeen; 03-05-2012, 2:14 PM."But far more numerous was the herd of such, Who think too little and who talk too much." -John DrydenComment

Unfortunately, sometimes even a $1000 gun is not a $1000 gun!
Hey wait a second, what exactly IS a $1000 gun? Does it shoot two bullets instead of the one a $500 gun does?==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

Some people actually think wood grips look good (not the RIA ones) and are appropriate for a GI model 1911...crazy I know.

Last weekend I tried writing the work KIMBER with a sharpie on my buddys G.I. model and he started keyholing shots at 75 feet regularly. I imagine if we engraved it in the groups would shrink further. Ill report back after I try itOriginally posted by FranklincollectorIt was administered with a toothpick and placed on a street taco.Comment
