    My Rock Island 1911

    Just picked it up yesterday $450 out the door. Good gun for this price, hell its my 1st 1911 and figured it would be good experience before I step up to a custom 1911. I added a Crimson Laser Grip to it.

          Rock Island 1911's rock!...Very underrated guns imo...Honestly probably the best bang for your buck since it's a 1911 and shoots just as good as any 1911 i've shot...Which includes Springfield Loaded, Colt XSE, Kimber Pro and with a set of new Grips on the Rock Island 1911 I couldn't even tell that it was a $500 1911...That's the only thing i didn't like about the Rock Island 1911 is the grips but once you change the grips to a set of VZ grips it looks like a $1000 gun not a $500 1911 lol...

              Yeah the wood grips made it look like my grandpa's side arm in WWII. It totally changed the looks. Shot 200 rounds today with no issues. New sights are coming in the near future. I'm very happy with it....

                                  Sorry but while the RIA is a great gun for the price ($425-450) putting a set of tacticool grips on one does not make it a $1000 pistol.

                                              It doesn't make it "look" like a $1000 gun either...it makes it look like a $450 1911 with a grip "upgrade"

                                                      A $1000 1911 has a much better finish than a RI.

                                                      The RI is a great** gun regardless, but the finish on them is whatever.
