380 or 9m

Personally I prefer 9mm, but a 380 is fine for self-defense. Go with whatever you shoot most accurately and also whatever you can afford to shoot most often.I am a law enforcement officer in the state of Colorado. Nothing I post is legal advice of any kind.

I think you are better off with a 9MM if for no other reason than .380 ammunition is more expensive, sometimes harder to find, and fewer options. 9MM on the other hand is less expensive, more common, and there's a large number of options as far as loads, from 115 grain to 147, etc.
Also, though I generally try to avoid the never ending caliber wars; once you drop below 9MM I think you are definitely pushing the weak end of the envelope.Comment

If the 9 fits everything you want to do, go with it. If weight/concealment are more important and determine if you can carry or not, go with .380. Also, Kahr p380 is not a blow back design. Is it pricey for a .380 and .380 ammo cost more than 9mm? Yes.
There have been a couple of recent threads on .380/9mm
This one includes a good .380 SD round video put up by shooterdude on post #26
Here's another thread:

9mm. The Kahr CM9 is a nice pistol. I just picked one up a couple of weeks ago and it will be replacing my LC9 for CCW due to it's smaller size and MUCH better trigger. A friend of mine got an LCP about the same time and after shooting my Kahr suffers from buyers remorse.Comment
