Glock 17 GEN 4 intrafamily transfer?

So I have a grandma in Texas with a Gen 4 glock 17 who wants to give it to me.

I believe i've read the codes correctly but it appears that she could send it to my FFL and it would be treated as an intra-familial transfer under 12078 PC?

I guess i'd just need to make sure the standard mags were broken down into rebuild kits or just not included.

Is there anything I'm missing? Do I need to send a notice to CA DOJ?

    any help would be appreciated.

    thats prettymuch how it goes..
just keep yer lingo straight as to not confuse your FFL as well as your grandmothers FFL of choice.. other than that your "out of state intrafamiliar transfer as a gift" should be smooth sailing..
your FFL may not be sure about the laws on how to do this.. a 2 minute phone call to DOJ with the proper terms is all it takes.. i had warrior one (rinverside, ca) do this twice over the last 2 months.. (i was their first and second).. they were on the phone with DOJ for less than 2 minutes (not counting hold time)..

keep in mind your FFL can charge you whatever they want for the transfer and your DROS paperwork goes through as a "sale" even though its a transfer so you are still stuck with the 30 day wait before your next new purchase..
your FFL may also want something in writting from your grandmother stating that the bloodline is really there keeping the transfer legal.. theres nothing on the books (state or federal) that requires this that i know of.. its more just a CYA move for your FFL..
Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you know where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!

    who wants a fishtank?

I also read some of the stickies which for some reason i thought were conflicting. Maybe i'll just pick up a local exemption pistol.

it should work...i know of someone who got the sig 226 stainless elite from a family transfer so getting the g17 gen 4 shouldn't be a problem...cost like $20 bucks i think to do the paper work and i believe all you have to do is mail in some paper work...

If you would kindly point out the conflicts you think you see ...

Apologies, i was drawing from multiple sources on the web of which I believed one source had not been updated. The information on this site is congruous.

Also, make sure your grandma does not send any large capacity magazines with the handgun. Have her switch them out with factory 10 round magazines.

Part in bold, is only legal if all parties involved are CA residents.

If one party is a resident of another state, then due to FEDERAL LAWS the transfer must be done through a CA FFL dealer.
