    What would you choose???

    Hey,

    As we all know, Turners is running their sale on what many will consider the 3 most popular 9mm choices. After shooting a Glock yesterday, I must have a polymer frame pistol. So lightweight compared to what I currently own. Comes down to:

    * Glock 17 or 19
    * S&W M&P 9
    * Springfield XD9

    Question: If you did not have either of the 3, which would you see as the best value? What would you choose?

    Just curious...thanks.

    Shoot them and see what you like best. If you cant shoit them then hold each. I would probably get the M&P9

      Glock 17
      Readily available parts and accesories almost EVERYWHERE!
      Can repair and maintain very easy
      Stood the test of time, proven.

      That said, the M&P9 and XD9 are also creat pistols, I owned an XD45 and loved it, shot very well.
      Just sold it off to fund other projects at the time.
      All in all, you cant go wrong with either 3, handel/fondle all of them and see which one fits your hand better.

      Either way, you'll be leaving the store with a solid 9mm pistol at a good price.

        Glock or M&P. Between those two, it doesn't matter.

            Glock. Even though the trigger isn't great I think it's better than the M&P.

              I would choose the weapon that fit my hands the best.

              If they all fit my hands the same and I shot the same with all three I would go with the Glock 19. I like the ergonomics of the Glock and the availability of any aftermarket parts I can think of.

                I have a Springfield XDM 9mm and a standard XD45 on order, so my vote goes there. I don't like the look or feel of either the Glock or M&P. Functionally, they're all as near as makes no difference for most shooters.

                  Best value is very subjective.
                  I tend to favor a better trigger than a better grip, but have to be at least comfortable with both.

                  G17/19 right now (so today my vote goes here).

                  Get XD's when Springfield has the magazine promotion (end of the year, pretty sure they will do it again this year).

                  M&P trigger does not cut it (not going to spend more on a apex).

                    I have ONLY shot the glock so far. I held an XD9, felt good as well. No experience at all with the M&P.

                        Glock 19.

                        Runs 100%
                        Can be overhauled in 6 minutes by anybody
                        will take G17 or G18 magazines (17 and 33 round)
                        A wealth of aftermarket sights available
                        You can go swimming with it and it will still run 100%
                        Bury it in the mud for 2 years, dig it up and it will run 100%
                        Yes, it's ugly. But it won't cheat on you.
                        Always worth $500.
                        Will feed dirty ammo out of mud puddle that was made in Siberia.
                        Small enough to conceal/carry
                        A perfect grip.
                        If you don't like the trigger, a $15 connector will fix it
                        I love the normal capacity 15 round mags. Plenty of firepower.

                        Be well, Bob

                          They are all great and reliable. You can not go wrong with any of them.

                          But I would pick the M&P for the following reasons:

                          1. You can always get a Glock or XD. They are everywhere. Not so much M&P.
                          2. M&P features an interchangeable backstraps for ergonomic. The others do not have this feature.
                          3. And last but not the least, M&Ps are made in USA.

                              Shoot them. I think it comes down to what feels comfortable to you. I shot all three and in the end I felt like the Glock grip wasn't right for my hand, the M&P felt inferior IMO, and the XD9 felt perfect, so I went with that. But when you talk about those three, it seems like it all comes down to personal preference. But shoot them, and don't buy a Glock just because they are popular.
