Tricky Colt Question

I'm thinking of buying a "custom" Colt 45 from the factory. Colt told me that the SN signifies a custom order delivered in 2/2004. They also said that the "base' model used is a M1991A1 but it is now a model O1091Z, because of the custom order.

How's that work with the roster? Is this considered a M1991 or ?? Is it legal to transfer in? Thanks all.

Sounds like you want to buy this from Colt directly, right?

This is a model 01091Z and some are on the roster

The one you want would need to be one of these or you would need to be roster exempt. Your last hope if the gun you want is not listed and you are not roster exempt is to do a SSE. I don't know if Colt will ship a non-rostered gun to CA for SSE.

The actual gun was shipped in 2/2004. It's the "Don't Tread on Me" gun. Colt says it's now a Model O1091Z made from a M1991A1 Ser 80.

Nope. It has to match exactly. Your best bet is gonna be the SSE. If Colt won't ship it here you might need to have it shipped to a FFL out of CA and have them ship it to CA for the SSE conversion.

Wrong. Morcarr, I've repeatedly told you that this can happen in CA.

A CA FFL can do single-shot Roster exemptions using drop-in parts, and many are doing so.

I know that. But you didn't read everything I posted.
