1st 1911 need help

if your gonna order it online or from factory, there are alot of option in terms of 9mm. most companies will build you one in that caliber. I too was looking for a 9mm, buuut then didnt want to wait to order it and just walked in and bought a kimber .45 instead

If you're just getting into 1911's, check out the Rock Island Armory pistols. You don't want to be $1000+ deep into a 1911 just to decide that they're not for you.

Springfield 1911-A1 9mm stainless steel Loaded model.
I really like it so far and it's so fun to shoot. However, I am having little issue with Wilson and Tripp Research magazine right now. Other than that, this gun is keeper.

Umm.. That gun on gunbroker is the stock photo from SA's website. So don't buy it for the NM serial number because it may not be.

Yeah I noticed that also... "frame made in the United States" is not really correct but I took that to translate as "NM" serial number gun.

I have an RIA 38 super converted to 9mm. I just replaced the barrel, recoil spring, magazines, and extractor. No problems, it shoots great and doesnt cost $1000 like the SA 1911 9mm that I had (sold it as it had stove pipe issues even after I sent it back to SA for repairs). I also have a Loaded SA 1911 in 45 and the SA V10 Ultra Compact 1911 in 45 that are keepers.

Am I being too ambitious? Can I really get a SA Loaded in 9mm? It seems I can't find any anywhere and I am afraid if I don't buy soon. The wife will use all the tax return before I get a chance to get my 1911 . Should I be looking into a .45ACP? I don't mind spending a bit on ammo as reloads will do me just find for training and practice purposes. But if the .45 round is that much better than the 9mm. I might just start a .45 collection. Should I also be looking into a different Manufacturer? I took a look at the Sig, which I liked allot, 1911 in SS .45. Please offer any help and whether adding a caliber is that big of a deal. Thanks!

Try calling Ammo Bros or Turners because they might have one. If not, they can order one for you. I am very happy with my 9mm 1911 and I am planning to buy 45acp down the road. I am glad 9mm was my first 1911 because it's so fun to shoot.
