    1st 1911 need help

Okay so I need your gun guru ness. I am looking to purchase my first 1911. I am looking for something in 9mm to stay caliber consistent. I have been looking at the SA loaded as well as the sig. I really like the stainless steel. It just is very sexy looking. Can anyone who has one or the other tell me the pros and cons of each and what I should be looking for? Can either one of these be had for around the $7-800 mark? Thanks for your Help.

Great guns but never seen them go for that price new. Used at that price is snatched up immediately. I would recommend looking at a RIA 9mm or 38 super and 9mm conversion. It could be had at your price range is from all the reviews sounds like a great shooter.

Not for that price but you have good tastes and a 1911 in 9mm is an awesome gun to shoot. Very, very fun. Good luck.

You can usually find the sig tac pacs for 799 but not in 9mm. More than likely looking to sse a 9mm 1911 and as others have said look into ria tacticals

I have the Springfield 9mm target model, no complaints here, one of my favorite 1911's.

S&W makes another nice looking stainless 1911-9mm, price is the only thing stopping me.
So tempted to get the Taurus 1911-9mm stainless, MSRP: $819.

I love my SA 1911 9mm and very fun gun to shoot. I am planning to make that my IDPA gun.

So since you all said that the springfield was a good model. I was thinking about this:
SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 1911-A1 Mil-Spec Stainless Steel Finish

Mil-Spec 1911 models include: forged frame, slide and barrel, 3-dot combat sights, high-hand grip, beveled magazine well, polished feed ramp & throated barrel, arched mainspring housing, stainless steel barrel, lowered and flared ejection port, angled slide serrations, black and cocobolo hardwood grips, loaded chamber indicator and titanium firing pin. Package includes 2 magazines, belt holster, double magazine pouch and an extra set of grips.

Don't have the pic, but from the description above is this a good deal at $699?

              Thanks again.

I thought you were looking for a 1911 in 9mm?

                  The mil-spec doesn't come in 9 mm.

Your best bet might be to pick up something in .38 Super and convert it to 9mm. I have a Springfield in .38 Super with a ramped barrel. If I had a ramped 9mm barrel with the proper cut I'd be all set to shoot 9mm.

I put 300 rounds through my SA Loaded 9mm last night. It's my first 1911 and I absolutely love this gun! It has a total of 700 rounds through it now and it just gets better and better. Save up for the loaded, you wont be disappointed!

I've tried a SA 9mm 1911 and I must say that I'm a fan. Expensive though. Let us know what you choose.

The SA 9mm 1911 is worth the extra money. I think this is what you're looking for.

Okay, where is the best deal on the SA 1911 9mm? I am I'm the riverside county area and don't mind having to go somewhere to get it. I also have an FFL that doesn't charge an ARM and a leg to transfer. So buying online is also possible.

                            Again, appreciate the help guys.

Btw, I did realize that the mil-spec listed above was a .45 but thought that at that price if it was a really good deal. I could jump on that and get the 9mm later. I am not opposed to owning more than 1 1911

Go for it, to me the Milspec is a great pistol to start & give you the options to customize it later. I like the classic look of a 1911 without the front cocking serration.
