I bought a SA loaded NM serial number last may. This gun has been back to springfield TWICE. first time was because the hammer would drop when the slide was released. Which is obviously a BIG problem. The second was because the rails for the mainspring housing where cut way to big and the mainspring housing was moving when the gun was firing.

So, the second time i had them refit the extractor, refit the slide to frame, fit the mainspring housing. All this was done for free.

When it comes down to it SA has excellent customer service, but in my case the things i had fixed should never have left the factory

My RIA Tactical was 100% out of the box with 230gr RN bullets after I ditched the factory magazine.

      It's probably 99%+ with SWC.

Colt 1911 Govt. Mdl. .45 Flawless for 4-5000 rnds from new.
Colt Combat Commander .45 Trouble w/ Semi-Wadcutters, put in new barrel, bushing, trigger, had the feed ramp polished, and have put 20,000+ rounds through it. The only stovepipe I've experienced was at Frontsite after 700 rnds of Wolf steel case without cleaning it.
I also own a P12 Para Ord that I bought used and am still working out the feed problems - the previous owner had a lot of custom work done to it for comp shooting, I've ordered new springs for it and am hoping that's the problem-it doesn't always go back into battery.

100% on all 1911. The fault was on my friends for limp wristing and shoulder is what I've noticed.

My Kimber compact was my first and it has never had a problem. It will feed anything I through at it, that is why it is my choice for carry. My Sig GSR shot great, but had FTF with the first round on a 8 round mag, even Wilson mags. My Springfield Loaded didn't have any reliability issues, but it was gritty and rough. The trigger stunk, it just needed a lot of fine Smith work to clean it up.

My SA 9mm and 45acp both went to the repair shop because I was having failure to feed problem.

                      Springfield Loaded:

7 FTE and 2 FTL in the first 2 outings (400 rounds).

I also had some issues with Wilson 47D mags when they were loaded to capacity on the first round (this was 100% a mag issue).

Since then I am at 1500 - 2000 rounds without any malfunctions (using power mags and Wilson with Tripp rebuild kits) and the gun has not been in for any warranty work.

First 1911 I ever owned was a SA TRP Operator. First day I took it to the range I had not lubed it or cleaned it, it was straight up factory. Put 500 rounds into her nonstop. Loaded up mag after mag after mag and did not stop shooting until I had shot up all 500 rounds. Not one single hiccup or malfunction during the first 500 rounds. Since then ive put about 2k rounds into it and not once has it ever had a single malfunction.

My SA GI model has been back to the factory twice. After less than 200 rounds, the end of the extractor broke off. Got it back, worked fine for around 500 rounds, then the plunger tube worked loose from the frame, requiring another trip to the factory. About 200 rounds through it since, ok so far.

At least Springfield paid for shipping and repairs.

The only problem with my RIA Commander was a FTL with a full mag. I switched to Wilson Combat mags and have had no issues since. For me, the supplied mag was garbage. No FTEs, ever.
