    .357 Revolvers

Looking to add a .357 revolver to the collection. This would be including those not on the DOJ list (I'm not a CA resident, yet).

I was keenly interested in the Chiappa Rhino in 4" or 5", but have turned away from it after reading numerous reviews on the trigger and Chiappa's sluggishness in responding to issues.

What do you guys recommend? something beyond the norm would be a plus.

FS: Atlas Bipod, Custom G23 RMR slide, ETS mags, Jagerwerks, Recover G26/27, CZ Scorpion bits, etc.

A classic looking S&W Model 19-3, 2.5" barrel. Blued finish (nickel looks nice too)

      I love my Ruger SP101.
The trigger is a bit nicer and more consistent on the Smith, but IMHO, it's not worth $200 more.

If you're thinking of a longer barrel, a move up to the GP100 gives you 6 shots.
Ruger has had their share of dogs, but one thing they do very well is build revolvers. I'd trust my life to any Ruger or Smith revolver with a stainless or steel frame.
I don't quite trust the alloy/polymer revolvers yet.

K frame (model 66), 686 (get the 7 shot model) and the GP100 (tried another one the other day, pretty neat revolver, but I still prefer a smith's overall feel). I think the GP100 has more room in terms trigger jobs simply because the Smith more or less already has a good trigger from factory, so in a sense you could mod the Gp100 around what you wanted, if you found the stock smith to light or not to your liking.

          I'm partial to K frame S&Ws.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

I'd go for 2 more rounds, like the Smith & Wesson 327 8 shot, or the Taurus 8 shot for less cash outlay. As we all know some speak against Taurus but most I've seen of the newer ones were very nice pieces. Not much to go wrong with a revolver in general.

              This..^^^^^

I own and have owned Smiths (K frame 66 for example) Ruger SP101 and have a Taurus .38 in stainless. If I had to keep only one it would be the Ruger. A GP100 will do the job and do it well.

              Take care, Bob

I love my 50DS Rhino! Super accurate, light, low recoil, and a seriously funky look. The trigger is unique but easy to get used to.

If I get another revolver it would be a gp101.

i just purchased a 627-5 S&W 8 shot.. already set up for moonclips and you can use it without moonclips.

                  always nice.

something outside the norm I would look for a nice PPC gun. They are some really great shooters and are outside the norm.

For out if the norm i would get an 8 shot 627. I really like the heft if an n-frame smith, you can shoot full house loads with ease.

I like my 686 but would not hesitate to buy a gp100. I have said many times that rugers are the best bang for your buck, great quality and price. Their actions can be a little rough out if the box but will benefit greatly with some dry firing.

If you can find a Smolt they are certainly out of the norm.

Go with the smith 686. Ive had one for 24 years now and have put about fifty thousand rounds thru it and it is still as accurate as the day i got it.

I own a TRR8...9 months and 6k+ rounds downrange so far. Throw in some 5-Star speed-loaders and you're stylin'. Keep your cash in the USA!!
