With work, the holidays, family commitments, new puppy etc.. I managed to stockpile three new pistols. First was a 92f Inox, then M&P 45, and last, but not least, was a Les Baer PII.
So up early today and at the range banging away by seven. All the targets were at 21 yards. My initial thoughts on these three pistols;
Berretta - I was impressed with the quality, and the fit for my hand was perfect. I love the feel of this gun. From dry firing, I knew the trigger was going to take some getting use to. The first 50 rounds were disappointing. After the next 100 things were getting better. The last 50 all went into about a 5" pattern. The trigger was was starting to get better. I'm looking forward to spending more time with it. I never got used to my 226 and sold it and although my wife has an XD9, this is my only 9mm.
M&P 45 - Nice ergos and fairly accurate. The trigger sucks every bit as much as everyone says it does. 200 rounds and it never got never got any better. The worst thing was it was inconstant. Off the bench it shot well. Apex will get a call this Monday.
Les Baer Premiere II - Very well made and very tight. Nice trigger, nice finish and crazy accurate. I thought because it was so tight I would have a few failures to feed or eject but it fired two different types of ball ammo and Speer hollow point handloads without a single problem. This pistol is very picky about magazines. I had 3 different types of magazines with me and it would only feed with the one supplied. None of the shops around here had any Wilsons so Monday I'll call Brownells.
Anyways, it was great to finally get a chance to shoot these pistols that were burning a hole in the safe.
