    M&P Magazine release issue (video)

So My M&P 9mm is having issues dropping magazines that are empty. It will slowly release them if i pull them out if the magazine is empty, and i have to have atleast 2 rounds in the magazine to release the magazine how it should.

    Any ideas?

Here is a link of a video i made just now. Sorry for the breathing, kind of embarrassing

Do you know what was the date it was manufactured?

Call S&W and they will fix it for you.

Get some spray cleaner and spray the entire area aroung the upper mag-well and spring area. If that doesn't fix it, it need a gunsmith.

Does it happen with EVERY mag?

Maybe the magwell is dirty. Have you cleaned it? Maybe the magwell is out of spec. Maybe a blur or high spot in the magwell? Have you taken a close look in there?

Try locking the slide back and take a flashlight to help you look from the open chamber down the magwell. Get an empty mag and insert it slowly and see if gets caught up on anything or if you can tell there is anything noticable that may be rubbing or adding friction. Then release the mag slowly and look for anything that may be the culprit. Next, do the same thing with a mag loaded with the requisite amount of snap caps that would allow it to function properley and see if it is causing any difference other than weight.

Also, since you probably have a magazine dissconect in the CA model that may have something to do with it but, I am not sure on that one. I am not to familiar with any problems associated with the M&P and mag disconencts, but other pistols I own with the disconect will cause the mag to hang up.

I had this issue too last weekend when we put 350+ rounds the same day it was just from being dirty cleaned it up and bam pops out like normal now. Shot a mix of federal champs, blazer aluminum and blazer brass. And was quite carbon covered keep a towel on hand to wipe her done every now and then
