I've been wanting a .40 but theres none up here as much as that sucks. The 9mm is good as well. I just want to snatch another .40 up and Sigs are as good as it gets in that caliber.

They go pretty cheap locally here for the 9mm version, and they already come with the 10 rounder, sure the price is nice on that site but factor in the transfer to FFL and whatnot.

I got the .40 with nights sight and a sig factory laser from turners for $429.99, it came out to 498 out the door. I took it to the range yesterday and put 200 rounds through it flawlessly. The grip felt nice at turners, but shooting it at the range took some getting used to for me. Went and put a hogue grip on it and love it even more now I wanted the 9mm but went with the .40 so I can get a conversion barrel to shoot the 9mm. Next step is a polish job on the barrel and a stainless guide rod. Just for looks though, the current configuration works fine. Get one they are cool

I am wondering if I can polish the trigger and the hammer, or if they are just black all the way through. What do you think?

I'd just keep it stock to be honest, if the gun is for defense especially otherwise SS rods are cheap right now. And I think the gun is best black but thats me. They offer a two tone version.

The coatings will come off, they're never "all the way through"...in my experience anyways. I don't know what metal would be black on the inside as well(that is common in the firearms world anyways).

btw, saw this surefire light for $300. wtf?! Is it really worth the money?

The TLR1 looks like it's built to last and I can't imagine that surefire has way better quality.
