armed with a Glock replica in .177

I wonder why Glock has not sued these manufacturers for trade mark, they look really close

      Except,

A preliminary investigation indicated Gonzalez assaulted a student before officers arrived and told witnesses he was going to "engage officers with the weapon," a police news release said.

          More, http://news.yahoo.com/police-student...231453248.html

"He had plenty of opportunities to lower the weapon ... and he didn't want to," Rodriguez said. Two officers fired three shots, striking Gonzalez at least twice, he said. The autopsy results are pending.

I think they could have used other means to apprehend him. If it was CA you know there would be all kinds a protests and a law suit pending already lol I understand cops need to protect themselves and others but they did make a mistake not just the kid. Obviously the kid wasnt right in the head but you dont go guns blazing in either. what if he did have a real gun? Cops and other people would have been hurt or killed. From what I saw in the video it seemed like they didnt even try to reason with the kid

Don't make this out to be the cops fault. CA WOULD have protests and law suits because this place is full of hippies and libs...that don't make it right! The kid was waving around a weapon, that looked like a real gun, and wasn't listening to orders to drop the weapon. Simple as that really. It's not like they ran up into the library shooting the kids that were reading books!

I didnt say they ran in there shooting kids and your right CA is full of hippies Im saying they should be trained on how to deal with people who arent in the right state of mind and trained not to just shoot people. If it was someone older and reckless they would have probably been in a hold off for hours because they would be more afraid but they didnt seem to care.

Have you ever been tasered? If it was a real gun and his finger was on the trigger when they tasered him, he would have tensed up and involuntary fired and the outcome would have been the same....

If you read the post you will see they gave him more than one chance to drop the "weapon" he didnt listen and pointed it at the officers. It sucks they had to do it, but it happens. I've been in the same position before and I promise you it doesnt feel good, but at the end of the day all my guys made it back safe.

Maybe the cops should have called his bluff and let the kid pull the trigger a few times to see what happens... and maybe this situation could have been a kid with a real gun and more kids wouldn't be headed home to their parents... I don't know, maybe...? It is too easy for dumbasses like us to sit back and judge someones actions from our safe little computer screens.

This guy has to live with the knowledge that he took out an unarmed kid while doing his job, and the deceased family has to deal with the fact that he isn't coming home and we most likely won't know what caused his actions - no one wins in this situation, don't be thoughtless.
