Long shots with my Ruger pocket protector/LC9

I was shootin' 100 yards today, pingin' square foot steel plates with my LC9... gettin' prolly 2 or 3 hits per clip at that distance...otherwise, not too far off target misses. Also, was cuttin' birdshot shells for long distance "slug" shots with the SG... It's been a good day

Very fun lobbing .45 at long ranges. I can often keep them in about a 15' circle at 500yds once I walk them in (Love the long delay for the bullets to get out there) I wouldn't say skill is involved, as I just try to point 'up' about the same amount each time, but definitely gets some surprised responses from friends! At 100 can usually keep them on a man sized target. With my Glock model 30, IIRC I just keep the bottom of the front site block even with the top of the rear blocks for ranges between 100-200.

I used to shoot a .308 winchester Encore with a 15" barrel in pistol profile. I had a .444 marlin barrel for it but that hurt too much. The .308 was almost completely unshootable. Recoil till hell wouldn't have it.

I used to hunt rabbits with a Jennings J22 when I was a kid. Made a few 75 and 100yrd shots with it and more 40yrd shots than I can remember (hey with a pocket pistol that's good work). I like to use my Ruger MKIII and red dot for that kind of thing now. Way easier to hit with.

500 yards with a 45acp is like shooting a m203. Fire for effect and correct.

You should watch impossible shoots and see what Bob Munden can do with a pistol long range.

So Bob can do 500 yard shots and keep them in 15"....Well, gee, I guess if Bob can do it then anyone can..........
I have seen the show, what I saw in this thread was the suggestion that a fellow member can do those impossible shots.

I do not need to see Bob do those shots, just melty.....

I shoot a T/C Encore pistol with 223/257Roberts/308win/454casull and 500S&W barrels. The only one that hurts is the 500S&W for me. All are 15" barrels with the 223 plain, the 454Cassull is Mag-N-Ported and the others have the T/C brake on them.
I have shot PD's with the 223 and want to hunt big game with the others.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
