The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

Well, I'm a S&W fanbois, but I don't bash Taurus. I own one of their wheelguns & like it just fine.
This photo has been making the rounds and has been pretty well hashed over already.
The owner didn't see the problem until AFTER he'd shot it & done an action job on it. It's not like it's something you would be looking for.
My guess is the machinist finished a run 686+ flutes & forgot to change the software to plain 686. Set it aside & somebody else came by & picked it up.
Schiznit happens. S&W will make it right."He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

That's interesting... Aren't you the guy that talked about peening front sights on a 1911 that were way undersize after the guy was sold one like that? To me, a company that backs up their products is the one to buy from.
I've made a bunch of parts including dovetail sights and scope mounts(sold under another company name), so I'm very familiar with this stuff.
Smith and Wesson does a reasonable job of making stuff. Since they are stepping up to the plate and getting stuff fixed is very nice to see. I've seen XD's fail during classes at Front Sight. I've seen Glock slides crack and magazines fail when new. No company is perfect.
Using extreme sarcasm here. I just wanted to be the first one who said it before someone really ment it. To me it matters none. I am a machinist, when you work with big lots stuff happens. Who cares, get it fixed and move on. I am a big S&W fan, own many of their products including knives. Good stuff IMO. I am certain to hear "what ifs" or well "it could have" but the fact is it didnt. Nothing happened.Last edited by chim-chim7; 01-02-2012, 1:04 AM.Comment

okay just got back from my gun safe, i had to check my s&w 686+ and my s&w 637-2, i'm all good here. Til this day i still stand by smith and wesson products. I tried other, such as the rossi and have noticable problems. I also have a taurus in jail and herd both negative and positive things about it but i'll be the one that decides if a gun is good for me or not.sigpic
