S&W will make it right. A few months ago I sent in a revolver for a recall from 1983

They paid for shipping both ways and charged me nothing for the repair.

Wow - I stand corrected. Appears legit, although it also appears the owner didn't notice the problem until after he'd shot it.

Assuming this isn't a stunt, this one is gonna haunt S&W for a while.

I've had 2 brand new S&W revolvers that I've purchased online have to go back to the factory for defects and Smith & Wesson has paid shipping both ways as well as DROS fees for having to re-Dros the guns with new frames/serial numbers.

From my experience, I would say the quality control of new S&W revolvers could be better, but their customer service is very good and they will take care of any problem you have with their guns. It's a pain in the rear to have to return a new handgun for flaws that should have been caught before the gun left the factory, but at least Smith and Wesson stands behind their product and will repair/replace the gun without any charge to the customer.

I had a problem with my guide rod on my 686 and I let S&W know about it. A day later I got a mail sticker and they covered everything on shipment. Got it back to me in two weeks or less. At least if they mess up they are man enough to fix them at no cost to the owner. Now if only Ruger's GP100 had an 8 shot capacity I would have had one of those by now.

If you don't mind it being chambered in .327 Magnum they have a 7-shot version...(I'm considering the 8-shot Blackhawk myself)

That's interesting... Aren't you the guy that talked about peening front sights on a 1911 that were way undersize after the guy was sold one like that? To me, a company that backs up their products is the one to buy from.

I've made a bunch of parts including dovetail sights and scope mounts(sold under another company name), so I'm very familiar with this stuff.

Smith and Wesson does a reasonable job of making stuff. Since they are stepping up to the plate and getting stuff fixed is very nice to see. I've seen XD's fail during classes at Front Sight. I've seen Glock slides crack and magazines fail when new. No company is perfect.

How could you tell me this! This is horrible and now I have to get this! My wife is going to kill us both.

Ok Change 50000 it shoots a .327 round and I thought you said .357 so no thanks I'll wait till the .357 comes in 7 shot cap.
