I've only dry fired a p07 and have a ppq in 40. The p07 in d/a was nasty while s/a was ok. Nothing compared to a ppq.

Love my PPQ9! My favorite range pistol based upon all the factors mentioned above: trigger, ergonomics, etc... For my home defense weapon I turn to my XDM45 purely for the lack of a .45 PPQ and after a trigger job to make the XDM trigger acceptable.

I'm a newbie, and after extensive research I really want to get the PPQ! Could someone help educate me via private message how to go about getting one? What is "SSE" and how do I go about ordering one to start the process through "Table Rock Arms".
I was looking to get the "Baretta PX4" until I found the "Walther PPQ" and was quite disheartened when I found out I couldn't get it (even made me want it more)!
        Any help would be appreciated.

Speaking of PPQ, do you guys know what the difference is for 9mm mags with different color followers? I found mags with white or orange in 9mm. It's my understanding that they indicate different generations?

I believe that the Red/orange ones are the newest mags they have for the ppq.

I have never seen a white followers for a 9mm.

It might be only on older P99 mags then. Guess that means I'll be looking for orange only then. Thanks.

I don't see this freakin state adding anything nice to the roster.

Just wanted to add my $0.02 to this topic. I picked up a 9mm PPQ from the great folks at EBR Works in April of this year. I have purchased approximately 10 pistols this year (many via PPT) and sold a couple that I just didn't care for. I kept several Sigs, an FNP .45 Tactical, a Kahr, a Smith & Wesson M&P series, and the PPQ. FWIW, I just put my first Glock in jail about 2 hours ago--I went with the G19.

Anyway, I can honestly say that the PPQ is hands down my favorite pistol. I did add some Trijicon Orange/Green night sights as well a steel guide rod. Both of these upgrades were pricey--$110 and a 5 month wait (ridiculous) for the Trijicons; $80 for the steel guide rod plus spring--so beware of this aspect of owning a PPQ. However, even before these upgrades the PPQ was my favorite. Its ergonomics, trigger and euro-style mag release simply set it apart from any other polymer-framed handgun on the market right now IMHO.

And if the above-mentioned aspects of the PPQ weren't enough to justify the hoop-jumping it takes to get one, consider this: This past weekend, I took my wife to her first range trip. She was nervous and apprehensive because she hadn't fired a handgun since with her Dad when she was 9-10 years old. I brought several 9mm handguns and after shooting the PPQ, she honestly said "what gun is this? I don't want to shoot anything else but this one." FWIW, she shot the PPQ really, really well--2-3 inch groups at 10 yards. The rangemaster (really nice guy--gave her 10 minutes of instruction that proved invaluable b/c it gave her confidence) and I both had our jaws on the floor...

Do yourself a big favor...go get a PPQ somehow, someway.

As for the PPQ coming to California, there might be hope since Walther is breaking away from S&W for importing their guns.

Walther announced they are opening an Operations office in the U.S.

My current finances probably would like me to wait awhile, and yet I feel the pull of a 9mm PPQ---I've given into temptation before---could always sell something! I've not done an SSE gun yet, but theres always a first time---especially with the Liberal Pukes in complete control here in Kalifornia, maybe get it while you can sort of thing. I am a fan of Walther pistols (have a 9mm PPS, a mint commerical P5, a SW99 45 ACP, almost a Walther, plus a 1969 .22lr PP and finally a couple of stainless TPH .22s) so the PPQ would fit right in---on the other hand, I am really liking my HK P30S and P2000 9mm pistols---life is full of tough decisions...

Would not hold my breath specifically for the PPQ, unless Walther plans on a major rehaul of the PPQ design to include a Kalifornia mandated magazine disconnect, the PPQ will never be Kalifornia DOJ roster legal.

So far PPT and SSE are the only ways to get one and IMO Walther is unlikely to redesign the gun just for Kalifornia.

SSE's not that big of a deal. Just need a good dealer to do it. Table Rock up north, EBR Works in Ventura County or OC Armory or Riflegear down south.

I don't think Table Rock Arms is doing SSE for the time being, so it is a big deal for people up in Norcal.

I recently read a post from Ryan that said he is back and DOING THE SSE CONVERSIONS AGAIN! He feels he'll be able to handle it okay because there won't be as much demand now that more California shops do it...

P.S. Why get one PPQ when you can have multiple? PPQ is good to go out of the box!
