    Sig DAK

I tried one forever ago and liked it. I couldn't remember the trigger pull (alot of the time the website's are off by a bit but not a ton). Do any of you have the DAK unit on your Sigs and do you like it? I love DA/SA but was contemplating the P229/P239 DAK in .357 sig/.40.

I actually had no idea Sig had a big win this year, http://www.shootingtimes.com/2011/01...ews_sig070606/.

It was a good review but figured I'd ask if you guys liked trying them too.

6.5 lbs in the DAK trigger. I have the 229 in 40 as well as the 226 in 9mm, both DAKs, and like them a lot. Smooth, consistent pull and easy to shoot well.
Fallujah had become a magnet for foreign jihadists and there were several thousand in the city who had come to make martyrs of themselves, to die while killing as many Americans as possibleAt each house I said a prayer, 'Please God get me out of this one.' When I come out of the house, I thank Him, light up a cigarette and move on to the next onesigpic

Cool! Yea I think it was a 229 model I tried back like 3-4 years ago or something, seems like forever. Someone was telling me actually it should seem better if I choose the larger 226 or 229 since its larger. I already have a 226 so figured I'd try a 229 in .40. The reset from what people are telling me is very revolver like, with the pull being lighter than a standard smith revolver?

I would say it is comparable to a standard revolver trigger, yes. I initially wanted a DA/SA but my dealer only had the 229 in the DAK. Really glad I went with it, but opinions vary. If you liked it your first go though and are familiar with double action shooting you will just like it more and more as you go, it grew on me quickly and was my first DAO trigger.

Yea, I am very used to Sig's DA/Sa and Beretta's. Needless to say if it was the standard DAO (which is very heavy and such), I probably wouldn't consider it. But I've heard the reset is decent and the trigger is very smooth and lighter than the DA in a DA/SA sig. I may just drop by the dealer and check one out, hopefully they have another in.

Ugh, 3 FFL's and no Sig Daks let alone Sigs in. Bad luck up here in Norcal :/. I may just have to go down south to try one out/rent.

Just mentioned this in another thread... I don't think I have ever seen a Sig with the DAK here in Sacramento. It's a real shame... I think I'd like it, but I want to give it a spin.

Have you tried bullseye yet? Or Marin firearms?

Wild Bills in Elk Grove had a 226 DAK 40.. recently prob still does... and I know that they can order for you.. Also Sometimes Rancho Cordova shooting center has them..

I've had a 239 357sig Dak it was great easy to shoot simple
Same for my 220 Dak Combat... They are simple and once you learn them
you forget about the break point of the trigger....

Never been there before, I'll check them out next.

Yea I was reading these 2 websites on reviews on the 229/226 and 239 in DAK, they loved the trigger but were saying that if it was a shorter/smaller pistol, the DAK felt closer and closer to the standard DA on the standard DA/SA line. I am looking at the 229 currently, but yea I read some reviews of some agencies in the east with tens of thousands of rounds without any issues or jams. And the guys seem to love the trigger and they had the DA/SA models before. I'll look up Elk Grove as well.

Have you ever tried a Kahr (striker fired) pistol? The trigger pull is very similar to DAK and extremely clean.. The pistols are very light, small and carryable if that's what you are looking for.. I have a P9 in 9mm that pulls right at 5 1/2# and is a joy to shoot.. Kahr is becoming a favorite among CCW people & LEO's..

To be honest they have no really been my type of pistol. I love the look of them, and I like there large .45 caliber model (I'm not a Kahr guy, I cant remember the model, like P45 or something, who knows), but even so, I just prefer Glock/Xd's for poly's and CZ/Sigs/Beretta's for steel/alloy. If I found a Kahr .45 for a decent price I would snatch it up though. I just dont care to much for there 9mm/40 offerings that I dont get from those other brands.

sig can do the conversion for 199.95, unless you already knew that then nevermind, pistol has to be 2005 plus newer

True, yea I looked into that. I have considered getting an 2005 or later model as it is. If I got a good deal on a 229 and could justify the extra to send it in, it very well may be worth it.

Just order one with it.. and save the $200 plus shipping etc... There are quite a few On Sigforum who like it in the 229 as well.. Different pull length than the 220 or 239 I had but still darn nice.

Call Tom at Bills tomorrow and see if they have one in the back or on the shelf.. or see if they can order you one.. Also check with Rancho Cordova Shooting center they also may have one in stock. or can order.. Good folks there as well..
