Use the grey color scratch pad from 3m, #37448. Using the pad, and oil, rub the frame gently in the direction of the grain. Rub in one direction only, don't go back and forth. Rub, pick up the pad, and then start again. After a few rubs the scratch will get blended in.

I just took apart my SA 1911 Loaded 9mm for the first time and put an idiot mark on it! i should have taped the frame but I was too lazy to walk over to get the tape.

I've taken apart my other 1911's plenty of times without scratching it up. So pissed at myself.

Guns get scratched from use!!! Look at the wear on the militarys pieces. My. ccw pistol looks like it has been through Viet Nam and both of the Iraqs. Don't worry about scratches. Only idiots worry about idiot marks.

What kind of watch? I was the same way before I ding'd my Planet Ocean. Now I don't religiously buff it and store it back in its watch box when I take it off, and choose to just leave it on the nightstand.

I think the thing that pisses me off about this whole ordeal the most is that I WAS an idiot in not taking the time to tape up the slide. I could have prevented it...especially since I thought about it but decided I was too "pro" to screw up. But oh well, what's done is done.

Bell & Ross BR-03-92 Heritage. It's just a light scratch on one of the sharp corners. I basically can't see it except for certain angles. It was bound to happen.
