    Glock conversion

Does anyone make a 10mm to 45 acp conversion for Glock? Is it just a barrel swap or would it require more parts?

.45 ammo will not fit in a 10mm frame (dont think there is a conversion barrel available).

You can go the other way .45acp convert to 10mm.
The 10mm can convert to .40sw/.357sig.

It's not about .45 ammo and 10MM ammo fitting into the frame. They both fit into same frame. (Glock 20 10MM and Glock 21 .45 auto have the exact same frame).

The issue is the slide. The .45 barrel of the Glock 21 won't fit into a Glock 20, 10MM slide.

It's not the hole up front, the hole is the same it's that the hood of the barrels are a different width. (and the on the two slides the cut-out for that hood is wider on the .45 Glock 21 slide)

Are there any reliability issues with the conversions?

Not really a problem. For instance, installing a .40, .357SIG or 9X25 barrel on your Glock 20 (10mm) will run 100%. And using the same magazines.

          (same diameter cartridge)

My G20 mags will work with a 40 or 357 conversion?

You can go 45 to 10mm but not the other way as stated above.
Just a barrel and a mag, so I've read. Some say ejector parts also.

l plan on buying the whole top end, just easier for me.

                        Off topic a bit..

Bob, are 10mm glocks still being found relatively cheaper than the more common calibers? Couple years ago they seemed to be 50-100 bucks cheaper in stores I frequented. Always were trying to dump them since no one could find ammo for them.

To me, it seems that people ask a premium for some reason.

Odd, When I bought my XD, Bullseye was offering me a pretty damn good deal on a 10mm glock that they had in stock. Sales guy said they couldnt seem to offload it. Similar thing happened at Marin Firearms.

Hi...I haven't noticed any discounts here in Kalifornistan....I paid normal Glock pricing for my G29s and G20s. Over on Glock Talk (10 ring: http://glocktalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=38 ) a couple of guys found some GEN2 G20s for $400. (1994). Not bad.

There is a shortage around the country of Glock 20SFs. Several people have had to wait 8 weeks to get one in the mid-west.

Sure, ammo is a bit more difficult, however in the last year ammo manufactures are starting to produce more and more 10MM. For example
Underwood just expanded their 10MM offerings. From all accounts it appears to be great ammo.

I reload 10MM for myself and always have 2000 rounds of mixed what-ever at my disposal.

Another option is to run a .40 barrel in the G20 or G29. .40 runs thru either weapon at 100% and since the frame is a bit larger, the kick is like 9MM. Not much. .40 is always available and not much money.

                              I love 10MM.

                              Take care
