Hello,

I could not find on the CA DOJ list the DE II Baby Eagle with 10round clip from Magnum Research. Is this firearm legal for purchase in the Republic of CA ?

Just about every type of gun is legal to buy, you'll just have to exempt it. Magazine capacity has nothing to do with ability to purchase the gun.

This gun was on the list, but now it is not. The old model numbers were on the list, but as you mention the Baby Eagle 2's would not be. I had one in California, and they are a fine gun.

It's not on the "roster of not un-safe handguns".

To legally buy a handgun in California, you must buy a gun that is on the list or roster exempt unless you are a police officer in which case you can buy any legal handgun. There are two exemptions that you can use, private party transfer and dimensionally compliant single shot pistol. There is a dimensionally compliant single action revolver exemption also but since you don't want a revolver you can ignore that.

If you can find a private party in California who owns that gun and wants to sell, you can buy it through a PPT.

The other option is dimensionally compliant single shot and that is usually done by installing an extra long barrel to reach the barrel length and overall length requirements, a magazine that holds 0 rounds so that it can only fire the one in the chamber and a magazine lock so that it can't be converted to a repeater without the use of a tool. That takes care of the single shot and dimensional requirements for the exemption, then the gun can be sold as normal and after you own it, you can keep it as-is or convert it back in to a legal semi-automatic.
