Ruger SP101 .327 Federal Magnum -- can it fire the cartridges it evolved from

.327 Federal Magnum evolved from the .32 H&R Magnum, 32 S&W Long, .32 S&W cartridges. Can the SP101 chambered for the .327 FM safely fire these cartridges??

        +1.

I practice mostly with .32S&W, saving the (more expensive) .327 Federal Magnum for the last part of a session (and HD). The .327 Fed Mags sure spit debris and are very loud, so eyes and ears (maybe double!) are critical.

Yup, *and* 32ACP in a pinch. Not recommended because the tiny little rim can get hung up on the star extractor, but there IS enough of a rim there to properly headspace and fire.

In other words, you may end up poking the shells out after from the front with a toothpick or the like, but it'll be perfectly safe to shoot.
