    Norinco 1911A1C Commander

So I've seen a customized Norinco 1911A1C on sale online, for $800. Can get it into CA with SSE. New trigger, Novak night sights, beavertail grip safety, flat mainspring housing, polished and throated ramp and barrel, stippled frame. My question is, would this be a good deal? I've heard that the Norinco pistols have good, forged steel, and chrome-lined barrels. How's their accuracy? Also, does the shorter sight radius and lighter weight of the Commander cause any problems with accuracy and recoil compared to the Government?

Eh, I'd rather get a Smith and Wesson/ Springfield with all that stuff already in it for the same price. Lifetime warranties and great companies.

Just remember, if there's anything wrong with that Norinco you're SOL in terms of warranty. Resale value will also be far lower in case you decide to go with something else down the line.

That's awful expensive for a Norinco.

this...custom work doesn't usually command a custom price unless it was done by someone really good, even if the work done on it is good.

hrmm it is a bit pricey, but if it's custom, ususally calls for those prices.

Need pictures, manufacturers of the upgraded parts and the name of who did the work. Without that info $800 is way toooooo high and I would just keep looking for a different Norinco.

But to answer your question, yes you can get this in CA via the SSE.
                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Sorry just read the OP again and I realized you didn't ask if you could get it via the SSE

I've never seen a Norc commander in the states, unless the ban on imports has gone away or something. I know the Canadians can get them.

Though there are quite a few gov models floating around.
