these full size guns..even shooting cor-bon dont exactly recoil...recoil is like saying a full size H-bar 5.56 with 55 gr 223 ammo (as opposed to something fierce like say...55 gr 5.56 ammo) is a bruiser...really you got to shoot one of these to believe it.. you know your shooting a full size and power gun... yet there is no real recoil..the sights barely even move.. I've litterally shot .22lrs that were harder to control...the extra weight of the stupid FLGR...far out weighs the complexity to break the gun down.... even if it only takes a paper clip or something to take it apart..

I know there's no recoil, but just that little bit may help...and even though I hate FLGR's, I've never had a problem stripping a gun with them

Edit: the TRP with a full rail and bull barrel has no recoil in .45 as well, but I'm not recoil sensitive

the kimber is easier than the springer...had to have an allen wrench with the last few springers...OH but fancy that ...they came with the wrench thingee in the pretty plastic box...with the useless holster, mag puch loader thingee...a quick call to comp-tac and brownells fixed that problem...stupid.. I was there, in the gun business, 30 yrs ago when people starting thinking flgr's they were cool... i should have stood in the corner and considered the error of my ways back then instead of spreading the cool-aid...dang...

not sure on the full size gun...but the UC has a mini tool..looks like a tiny itsy bitsy allen wrench that fits in a little hole, if your lucky while the slide is back, then you release the ss and take the gun apart...works ok... I'm thinkin' JMB didn't invent it cause it's stupid...not because he didn't think little 1911's weren't cool...

If you want my opinion, I would:

1) Shoot it as it stands. You may never experience it the way it was made again, based on reading this thread. I have a feeling that the mods will come more frequently than sporadically, so enjoy it the way it is for a while.

2) Find the thing you most DISLIKE about it, and change it. If that's the sights, then get your Heine set up. If it needs checkering, get it done/DIY. I'm sure you get my drift, but take step 2 cautiously, unless you're sure you want to drastically alter the pistol one way or the other.

3) Shoot it some more. Find out if there are any weaknesses/limitations the pistol has for any particular purpose(HD/SD, Range Pistol, Games, etc.), and apply what you know to those particular aspects of those purposes.

You will then end up with what you want.

however... the point... I have met Scott... really nice guy...the wife and I were at Thunder Ranch and he brought a couple of cases of guns for us to man/woman handle...including some suppressor ready stuff...he does really nice trigger work by the way...

I picked other. Since it's probably going to be a range gun get a fiber optic front sight. I have the same set up on my kimber custom with a bomar rear. The fiber front sight just makes the gun alot easier to shoot well and fast.

I have the exact same gun and i put DP fiber optic front sight on it. Works great with the stock adjustable rear sight and I love it. Make it much easier and faster to get a good sight picture.
