Really?! I had no idea. I can't imagine the hassle of CA's laws would outweigh the benefits of selling to such a huge market - but I guess it does.

I only recently became a gun owner, so I never gave much thought to the laws. Now I'm more shocked all the time by the arbitrary nature of them. I want to get the FNX - but no joy. I'd like to have the FNP 9 or 40 in flat dark earth - but it too is off roster. Same gun as the stainless FNP-9 that I got...just a different color. Amazing.

I wish I could find mags at those prices for my other guns. Two goddamn 10 rounders for my USP45 ran me 66 shipped.

        1. The mag release is very picky. You have to press it squarely and firmly in order to drop the mag. If you don't get a solid press, the mag won't drop. This can be an issue if you have small hands like I do.

        2. Unless the slide is locked back, when inserting a magazine it is VERY hard to seat! I have to slam that thing home with a lot of force or else it won't fully click in, and the mag will just drop on the floor. I've never experienced this issue with any other gun I've shot/owned.

These 2 issues aside, it's a damn fine weapon. Solid, lightweight, accurate, reliable, and comfortable.

The issue with the mag release is actually flex in the frame binding the mag, not the release itself. I figured out a 100% sure method to drop the mags but it requires a small shifting of your grip: From a right handed shooter's point of view, put your right middle finger on the trigger guard as your right thumb pushes the release button and it will work every-time. I have not had the problem of mags not seating but perhaps you are using the normal capacity and not the 10 round CA neutered version?
Using C Products 10 round magazines in my AR-15...just to be "safe"...

I loved how the USG FNP looked with that FDE. I was thinking of getting my frame done to make it look just like it. I'm fond of my all black but that'll always be an option for later.

I was going to order from them and kept on getting errors. I called and the said "sorry" even though I pointed out the gun was doj approved.

I LOVE the FDE too... Just picked up my .40 and waiting on the Ameriglo sights then taking both to get them installed. All I gotta do is swap the mag release on the 9mm back to the left and we're gtg!
