Gen 4 vs gen 3 glock

So that would mean I would have to buy a Glock Single Shot at a FFL and then pay him to convert it? Fudge... sounds expensive. But I've held one in my hand, and it fits very well!

i got a 3rd gen glock with the rtf2 grip, that thing is amazing to hold. fits my hands perfectly. the more you shoot it the more it "digs" into the palm of your hand/grip hehe

anyways, i've always wanted to try the 4th gen grip but bc of its scarcity, i gotta wait

if you have a gen 3, either go with rtf2 or hogue grip. i heard some people using skateboard-like grip tape but it will deffinately take of the dead skin layer from your hand after a range trip!

I'd love a rtf2, I liked them, loved the serrations too. Hard to find up here in Norcal though. I just prefer the Gen 3 system more, the backstrap system is a big selling point and the better magazine release. The GF would appreciate something like that.

I have/had both Gen 3-4 and I prefer the Gen4. The adjustable backstrap for the guys with m-s hands are going to love it. The Gen 4 feels like it manages the recoil better and improved my follow follow up shots. These are all small things though and if I didnt already have two G4 G19 I would be just as happy with Gen3 G19. It's too bad that the Gen 4's are having some negative reports online because from my experience they are every bit as realible as the older gen G19s.

I tried GEN4. I like my issue GEN3 and own GEN3 G23 and G34,
Gen4 is fine. But we had problems with them in 9mm models. Unless You hold it REALY tight it can jam.

I NEVER like dual recoil spring on ANY combat/duty pistol.

Without either the medium or large strap on, my Gen 4 G19 felt less like a block. It sure felt better than the earlier generations that way.

Sorry for the threadjack, but what kind of sight is that on your Glock and does it cowitness with the irons? Also whats the battery life on that sight? Thanks

I own both. Both are good and nice to shoot, but IMO I like shooting the Gen 3 more. Not because the Gen 4 has problems (mine doesn't and never has), but just the way it feels when shooting. For whatever reason, the 'feel' of shooting the Gen 3 is better in my hands.

Either way, it's still a great gun. The Gen 3 is my go-to gun and main gun I use in classes or competitions. The Gen 4 is the backup that gets used if the Gen 3 goes down, or if I have some friends who wants to shoot a 'stock' Glock 19.

For fit, Gen 3 is for me. In fairness, as others have stated, each hand is different.

I found out the other day just because a gun feels better in the hand doesn't mean it's going to be more accurate.

The XD feels so much better in my hand but my groups were horrid all day. My glock is eh and I shoot good with it. Shoot both and see which you shoot better.

And I say until glock fixes the little nitches stick with the gen3. But if you have the cash and just want one go for it. Never hurts to have too many guns.
