Gen 4 vs gen 3 glock

I have a gen 3 now....held the gen 4 today and it simply felt better in my hand...the grip just seemed better. Anyone else experience this?

not all hands are the same, so just because it felt good/bad in someone's hand does it mean it will feel the same to someone. Have you tried the Hogue grip on a glock? Makes it feel waaaaaaayy better when I grip it.

Most guns feel good to me . But yeah, the Gen 4's do feel awfully nice.

I love Glock Gen4. I own 3 right now. The Glock 34Gen4 is in jail right now...

All the Gen 4's I've held have been equipped with the small back strap they do feel better in the hands but do they function like the Glocks of old? That is the question no one knows yet as far as I'm concerned they started a clean slate. As soon as they are done with all the recalls with different recoil springs and ejectors I'll be happy enough to get one.

I like the Gen 4s and they definitely feel better to me than Gen 3s.. but not good enough to the point where I'd be willing to pay off-roster premiums that some people charge over a Gen 3. Essentially, I'd be willing to at most pay $50 more over what I can get a Gen 3 for.

Brandon--which strap was on it? Was it the same model as you are used to? Hump falls in a different place on different models.

I own both. Both are good and nice to shoot, but IMO I like shooting the Gen 3 more. Not because the Gen 4 has problems (mine doesn't and never has), but just the way it feels when shooting. For whatever reason, the 'feel' of shooting the Gen 3 is better in my hands.

Either way, it's still a great gun. The Gen 3 is my go-to gun and main gun I use in classes or competitions. The Gen 4 is the backup that gets used if the Gen 3 goes down, or if I have some friends who wants to shoot a 'stock' Glock 19.

                      Yeah same model.

I actually just got off the phone with the store...apparently the grip is cut a bit more so you can get a higher grip on it.

Makes sense. Thinking about a 34 now. I love love love my 17.

I want to try out a gen 4 g19 with the small backstrap so bad

If anyone around Fresno is willing to let me try theirs, I would really appreciate it. I'll let them try one of my guns as well

The Gen4's have the RTF3 grip texture. Its vastly superior to the old glock texture which gets slippery when it gets slimy or your hands sweat (training at Front Sight in June pointed out how slippery the Gen3's get). The RTF2 texture on the Gen3's is the best for serious use, but RTF2 is way too aggressive for casual or carry use.

I shot my Gen4 21 side by side with my friends 21SF using the same ammo and the Gen4 does have slightly less recoil compared to the Gen3. Not much but its there.

                              I prefer the Gen 3.
