I am a lefty. I don't have any fingers on the slide lock side, but this happens to me maybe once every 200 or so rounds. All I ever shoot is Walmart federal ball, so I don't know if things get better with more expensive ammo.

Once you eliminate the possibility of mags, thumb and limp wristing....I would call SA and ask them about it. They have great customer service and warranty(so I am told, not just on gun sites, but by folks I personally know that have had to deal with them), I however have never had the issue you stated with my 4" XD .40, after close to 3500 rounds down the pipe!

No it moves freely. I'm going to take it out again sometime soon and check to see if it's a magazine, or my thumb. If it's neither, I'm going to contact SA and see what they say. Thanks for the input.

I also have a XD40, service model and have experienced the same thing. It does depend on the ammo I'm shooting. In researching this issue, I came across this:

Socolive được biết đến rộng rãi khắp Việt Nam là một website chuyên phát trực tiếp bóng đá chất lượng cao. Đội ngũ bình luận viên bóng đá hài hước, chuyên môn.

you can either do the same modification or try finding ammo that doesn't cause the premature slide lock.

there should be SOME tension. Like a spring. NOT loose.
