    Pro Mag Magazines

I have a PPQ in jail right now that does not come with 10 round magazines. I found some Pro Mag 10 rounders from Midway. I have never used Pro Mag magazines before, and after comparing them to the factory mags, I'm a little worried. The springs seem loose, and the followers look pretty cheesey. Can you folks give me some feedback on your Pro Mag experiences?
Worst case I'll block the factory 15 round magazines to only hold 10. Thanks.

I personally don't like pro mags. I had one for my ar and the bolt catch wouldn't stay open. Causing me a lot of grief at the gun range from the RM's around seize fire time.

I was not aware you could recieve the pistol without 10 round magazines. As far as I have researched you can't here in CA.

That said the Pro Mag brand has been just ok from my expierences. Not bad for range/plinking in the guns I have used them in. The occasional failure to feed every 100 or so rounds but I would not trust my life to them.
If SD is your goal, I would rather have factory mags for the guns I have used them in.

Can you swap factory spring and follower into the promag?

        (no experience with promag)

yes...with 1911's anyway, I would imagine most mags would be the same way

the ProMag I've used is a POS, the only reason I still have it is for practicing malf drills and I haven't replaced the spring and follower with Tripp...

I bought 2 Pro Mags for my Mini-30. They wouldn't even fit in the rifle.

I bought 4 for an out of production FEG/Mauser P90DA & they work fine. Too bad the pistol itself is a POS...

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Pro Mag if there was ANYTHING else available.

I just played with this and I think this will work fine. The Pro Mag 10 round Mag has a distinct "dimple" in the body that keepts it a 10 round. Sounds like I'm going to end up blocking the factory mag "rebuild" kits I received though.

                  Don't waste your money!

With rare exception, the best mag for your gun is a factory mag.

Pro Mags are D- at best.

                  Good Luck!

I learned the hard way with Pro Mags, would not lock the slide back on my Sig P220. Pieces of junk.
