    They are both equally good pistols. I like both. My dad has an XD9 bi tone. I'm looking at a Glock 20 or a springfield mil spec as my first pistol.

      If you are going to bang for the buck XD since it comes with Extras.

      If you want to shoot lead with no issues go with the XD.

      I would go Glock 35 just because of reliability and I didn't mesh well with my XD9.
      Current Armory:
      HK p7m8
      Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm
      Hi-Power Practical
      Baby Eagle 9mm
      P99 AS
      Glock 43

        The oft repeated piece of advice given is oft repeated and given because it is sound: Shoot both, then decide. Don't let the # of mags or junk accessories sway your decision an iota. Shoot and handle both, note the differences in ergonomics (grip, trigger, control locations, felt recoil, etc.), and go from there. Either pistol will be more than accurate and reliable enough for most purposes.

        Oh, and in before the vid.

                9mm.

                .40 is for newbs.

                      XD without a doubt. New XD essential packages can be had a 400. Why dish out the extra 150-200 for a glock?

                        Either on is a good pistol. Don't put any value in the XD extras, aside from the mags the rest is cheap plastic junk. I like Glocks, my brother likes XD's. Both have been 100% reliable but they do fill different in the hand. I think the grip is too small but I have have long fingers.

                          If your a ford guy.......

                          Ford = Glock
                          Chevy = XD
                          Mopar = M & P

                          So depending on what make you drive you must choose the corresponding handgun type

                          And Imports all = Sig

                          If you don't have a car = H & K

                            Because they have lower bores, shorter and more positive resets, no superfluous grip safeties, and cheap and readily available parts (both OEM and aftermarket)?

                            Again, the stuff that comes with the XD is junk. Anyone that actually uses a holster or mag pouch buys their own from a reputable maker anyways (Bladetech, Comptac, etc.). Furthermore, the price difference is not really that great, especially when you take into account a box of ammo is $15 per. Better to just get the pistol that fits you more from the start, period.

                              Except for the fact that the reliability factor of a Glock does not reflect Ford whatsoever.
