How Often you Shoot, How many rounds/session ???

    Hi gang,

Just wanted to take a poll and get an idea of often most people here go to the range, and how many rounds you shoot per session ?

Also if you could describe any particular excersises / practices you do on regular basis to improve your shooting/skills ?

    I'm all ears...
    Thanks in advance!

Hm, 200-250 per pistol usually, I've done 400-450 rounds before during a session but I find that just eats up money quick and gets the hand tired.

I get about once a month, (wish I could go more, but with 3 kids under the age of 7, it's hard to justify spending the $). Usually about 100-200 rounds, depending on time.

2x a month minimum. 2+ hours per trip ~100 per firearm. i shoot for accuracy, speed and control. i short stack my mags most of the time just to speed up reloads and simulate reloads/failures after a couple of shots i wait and assess my progess

          Gun powder therapy schedule:

at minimum, once a month...whether shooting SG's at clays/trap (2-3 boxes/time), pistols/rifles from the bench at the range (~200 rounds of 9mm, .223), or free for all'n out at the property.
at best, I get out every other weekend, that is, if I get all the "Honey/Dad Do's" are checked off the lists

Once a week, 50 rounds per session. I compete, so I practice mainly on accuracy, distance and then speed; in that order.

Depends. ( not so much now that I am in NYC )

When I do go to the range I usually bring many pistols and will go through maybe 200 of each. My last trip I went through a whole brick of .22 in my GSG before I switched to my glock, and then came the wheel guns...

If I have the time (and $$$) (and thumb strength) I will stay out for a coupe to a few hours.

Lately twice a week and about 200 to 300 rounds of various calibers since I've been reloading.

Thanks for all the answers....Please keep it coming... I'd like to know what's the "NORM" here on this forum.

And you sir, what practices you do to improve your accuracy, distance, and speed. I think most people who go to the range want to accomplish all 3. More detail would be educational

                    -200-300 at weekly weekend matches.
-100 to 200 at the indoor working on fundamentals, watching the front sight, etc.

I'd say between 400-500 rounds per week.

                    Yes, I load.

I've been doing Ben Stoeger's dry fire drills also: Dry firing, holstering, reloading, etc.

I used to shoot once or twice a week with roughly 200 rounds per session. Lately.. I'll be lucky if I go once or twice a month.

I try to go once a week. I usually shoot between 150-200 rounds. I just work on accuracy and the basics. I only have one gun, a xd .45, so that kind of limits my shooting unless someone comes with me.

Depends on the time of year and how my pocket book is looking,
Last winter I was going once a week, this winter is looking more like once a month. This summer I only got out to go shooting 3 times :O
If I am shooting weekly I back down my round count, but if I am shooting monthly I am looking at 200 pistol rounds, about 50-100 rifle rounds, and 200-500 .22 rounds, and maybe a box of shotgun shells if I bring the shotguns out.

Most of my time ends up re zeroing, checking something I have changed, or modified, and then trying to out shoot my buddies.

I go once or twice a month. I shoot a lot of .22 to maximize my trigger time and minimize money spent. I usually go through half a brick of .22 between my handgun and rifle, a box through my HD gun and 1-200 more rounds through my others handguns (lately it's been my .44Mag).

I practice fundamentals with the .22's, stay proficient with my HD gun and blast away at steel with my others.

If I bring new shooters I just shoot a few cylinders through my HD gun and spend the rest of the time observing and helping others, making sure they are comfortable.
