And you sir, what practices you do to improve your accuracy, distance, and speed. I think most people who go to the range want to accomplish all 3. More detail would be educational
OK. This is usually when I'm alone, but when I'm with friends...it's more to BS.

First of all, I put my pistol(s), mags and ammo on the shooting bench in front of me. Secondly, I do some strech exercises to relax. Then, do A LOT of dry firing before I load it up.

Finally I shoot, starting from 7 to 15 to 20 and 35 yards. I take my time to hit the 10 ring and I fix my corrections when I'm off...trigger control, grip, etc. Then I speed it up with double taps all over again. It's like working out with weights: start small and huff/puff to the heavier weights.

    That's it.

Usually twice a month and blast 200-400 rounds each time.

Once or twice a month -usually indoors and at least 150-300 rounds depending on the caliber. I always bring more than one to shoot.

These days... 1-2 times a month. 50 Rds. 9mm and 100 .22lr. Indoor Range just to keep proficient and to relax.

When I first got my pistol, once every 2 weeks, 1 hr, 100-200 rnds.
Now about once a month, 1 hr, 100-200 rnds.

I started just practicing consistently hitting where I aim to get ~2-3" grouping two handed. Then progressed to double taps until I was consistent with a 3-4" each double-tap. Then getting 3-4" single shot one handed, and 5-6" single hand doubletaps. Now I do 50-100 rnds Mozambique (double and single hand mix), and then 50-100 rnds target.

The only accuracy shooting I do is one handed, quickly raise and fire then raise and double tap. Not sure what you'd call that. It would seem to be most likely scenario for defense.

About once a year I take my 1919 out to BLM land and waste 1000+ rounds.

Once a month to the range with an AR and a .22 rifle. 200+ out of the AR, 500+ of .22.

Since ammunition is so expensive these days i usually shoot between 50-100 rounds and practice on accuracy and drawing from the holster for speed drills. I would say i only shoot once a month since my golf addiction is so bad LOL.

I try to go about once or twice a month. I usually bring 100 rounds with me and try to finish the box when I'm just shooting pistols. But I usually also have either my M1A or AR, which I only usually put about half that through.

                      I'd call it 'bad' technique?

if you raise it up, why not use 2 hands? If you say the guy is "close" and you dont' have time to use two hands, then you need to be shooting from the hip.

On the first shot, using 1 or 2 hands is roughly the same. But I guarantee the 2nd shot using 1 hand will be MUCH less accurate and drastically slower if you try to aim. If you dont' aim and double tap how accurate can you really be 1 handed as compared to 2?

There are applications where I definitely advocate using 1 hand, but what you're doing is not it. But raising the gun up and sticking it out in front of you, only to use 1 hand and then follow that would a double tap? ehh.. too much TV perhaps...

If you had a timer, you'd know right away this would not be worth doing.. there's zero benefit..

When I go to the mountains for a week (1 to 2 times a year) I may shoot over 2000+ rounds which would include various pistols, rifles, and a 12 gauge.

I might shoot 300 rounds or more when I go to the local range (all day for $13). I can't afford to go to the range very often, so I have to make it worthwhile. I might go 3 times a year if I am lucky

About 250 rounds every Saturday at the local USPSA match, then a couple of Sundays for non sanctioned action pistol matches, another 300 or so.
