What's WRONG with Me ????

Hi guys,

I have a Big Problem! I bought a Sig 226 9mm about 2 weeks ago. I've shot it twice (about 200 rounds). On my 2nd session I was getting much better (all shots within the big circle at 15 yrds or so, and 8-10 circle at 7 yrds).

Before I had purchased this gun, I had decided to get ONE gun that I'll use for ALL purposes. The idea was to use it for Range, HD/SD, and competition/training classes I'll be joining in future. The Sig fills all my needs here. The caliber of choice I decided was 9mm ~ since it's cheap for the Range, and has very good HD bullets too. I could get more range time, practice...practice...practce, and get really good with it. My intent was to get the gun of my choice/dream, and become really proficient with it. Well, I have acquired that gun and would be shooting it a lot as time & money permits.........

So, what's the problem now????? I am fantasizing about getting "another" gun now. Sometimes I think of a Glock 17 or 19, sometimes, I think 1911 in 45 cal, sometimes I think CZ 75B in 9mm. What's wrong with me???? Am I getting too greedy? Why would I be having these thoughts? I mean, I got what I wanted, and my P226 fulfills ALL my needs.... This is illogical!

Good luck, the bug bit you. I said the same thing, and actually followed through for a while, sold the gun and didnt own anything for about 5 years.

This new kick is bad. If it wasnt for being broke and in school, id be shooting/reloading/buying more guns and crap.

Ive pretty much settled on one HD gun, and one fun gun for handguns. Been getting much more into shotgun/rifle lately. You think pistols are expensive, dont even start looking at rifle gear.

Yeah, I feel the same. I wanna get a Shotgun too, which I know nothing about. And AR is also my dream rifle. After those 2 I'm done with guns. But for now, I'm going crazy thinking of another handgun....which is not really needed, because my Sig fills all my needs. Darn the bug!

Yeah, its pretty hard to stick to your guns, when doing so just means sticking to One Pistol, one rifle, and one shotgun.

I have a glock 17, and trust me, you won't fantasize about it when you own it, that damn trigger is horrible, but the rest of the gun almost makes up for it.

Just try to remind yourself that buying more guns means shooting the ones you have a lot less (depending on your budget)

Seriously, life is too short to have only one all purpose gun. I can always think of a purpose for another gun.

As long as you're not financially killing yourself. You wouldn't just buy 1 golf club, right?

Nothing is wrong with you, accept the addiction. I did!
I got my first handgun back in march, now I have three and one rifle.

Btw, it's called HD rounds or ammo, not HD bullets, unless you are trying to throw the bullets the themselves at people for hd.

^^ This. Trying to use one gun to fulfill all your firearm needs/wants is like trying to play an entire round of golf with a sand wedge.

I actually have a co-worker that I have known for a number of years who knows I collect guns. He sees me with a new gun every month. Last month he was looking at my XDm and he said "They let you have that many guns" . I said "let me"? This is the USA buddy. Good grief.
Have fun starting your collection. Buy a safe 4 times larger than you think you need and bolt it down. That way it's looks empty so you need to fill it. Happy Shooting!
