NICE they finally came out with a Xdm 45 compact.
The XD45 Compact is actually pretty good and I believe the same size? No need to SSE it either!

Umm being that it will not get on the safe list, probably still needs SSE.

I am guessing by the pressence of the 9rd magazine the other XDM 45 magazines are not compatible?

I have to say these look pretty fantastic. I had an XD45 and loved that pistol. This has enough upgrades (plus they actually look cool compared to the ***-ugly XD45) to be worth the SSE. 9 rounds, eh? Must be a bit smaller than the XD45? And why on earth does Springfield feel the need to make these into a walking billboard? There's nothing cool about a "3.8" on the side of a slide.

Oh, they are making a couple of more model, non-"HC", probably for the other few limited magazine states (with no list).
Coming with 2, 9-round magazines instead of 1 and the full size with sleeve.

Dont you lose the umfph the .45 acp round offers when going shorter barrel of less than 4 inches?

OMG, can someone help me out here by post or e-mail is prefered. I live in Va & found a Springfield Armory 3.8 compact .45 ACP listed in Gallery of Guns with 1) 9rd & 1) 10 rd mag. with "sleeve". According to them it's the "California" version. The description says it has ALL the XDm gear, 3 back straps, 3 "mag extensions", holster, clip holster, speed loader. I'd like to know :

Does it come with the 3 "mag extensions" to match the 3 back strap sizes??

What is the "sleeve"??

Are the "mag extensions" shorter than the ones that come with the 13rd mag???
