very nice! i've been thinking of customizing my 1911 as well. I was wondering if you knew how much it cost to custom fit a barrel bushing and have the barrel flush with 11 degree crown?

Fitting a new barrel was part of the warranty so I don't know the cost. In fact I don't know individual service pricing but you can download it from their website. Most services have a listed cost, and if you want something not listed then they will quote you directly.
Since you are in Riverside I would take your gun to Will O'hara in Corona. He is an amazing 1911 specialist and has worked on several of them for me, including this one. The only reason I didn't have Will do the rest of the work on this one is because it was at Springfield for warranty work already, and he is currently working on a few other pistols for me now. Will can be reached at 951-371-4971.
As a side note, I've come to have a much greater appreciation and understanding for the work that goes into custom 1911s because of Will. He is one of the very few master craftsmen that will take the time to educate you about the intricate details, and actually show you how he does things.I voted against Obama before it was cool.

Barrel crowning is only around $25-40. To fit an oversized bushing should not be more than $100. If you are going to fit a bushing, you might as well get a new barrel to start with and benefit from the two put together. The downside is that it is more $$$.
I had the SACS fit a match barrel to my EGW bushing and plug, flush with a 11* cut... the total cost was about $300.
The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.
