who cares about idiot marks? if you really use your 1911, that would be insignificant compared to holster wear or racking it on your belt one handed. my 1st les baer premier II got duracoated after 3 years of regular use.

I have a Permier II and a TRS and love them both. Silly accurate with any ammo I load. After owning 5 1911's and getting the Les Baers I have since sold all of them and just own the 2 Baers. No reason to waste ammo on a gun that I like less. The best part is these guns just get better with age. My TRS has 16,000 rounds through it now and has never had a part failure. Can't say enough good things about these guns.

Oh and the break in on the TRS was flawless but the Permier II had failure to feed issues when new. So far the last 3000 rounds i have put through it has had no failures. When I go to shoot paper I bring the 3 Baer mags I have. They have orignal springs and are very tired but still work like a charm. The Wilson Combat mas are saved for matches or carry if I could.

Right, but some people (including me) would pass over a used one with scratches to the frame. If they couldnt disassemble it properly, who knows what else happened to it.

Wonder what your guys' experience has been with LB 1911s. Heard they run tight and take some time to break in, but are some of the most accurate 1911s you'll find. Was there any issues during break-in or after?

Talk about "tight"! My TRS was so tight when it was brand new, I thought there was something wrong with it It took me a looooong time to field strip the darn thing because I was being careful not to scratch or damage it. I already have a Springfield Loaded and a Dan Wesson 1911 before the TRS too so it wasn't like I was new to it.

It's very accurate and the features of the TRS are welcome too.

Congrats on your Les Baer. They're excellent 1911s, tight for about 1200 rounds before they really start to work itself in. It's a gun that'll serve you well. Only thing is both of my Baers have broken extractors after a bit of use, so spares might be something to consider. I have spare extractors for each of my Baers. Otherwise they're quite fantastic. Lastly, I wouldn't detail strip until you have at least a thousand rounds down it since they're are really tight and can be stubborn to reassemble. It does make you appreciate your gun more though.

Great 1911's. Les knows how to build them with his "hard fit" so they remain accurate and field reliable.

The bushing rotates (for removal) much easier if you pull the slide back almost 1/4" first. I don't know why, but it works.

that's because the bushing isn't tight on the barrel when you pull the slide back since it's not in battery, otherwise you would never be able to unlock the barrel to pull the slide back or bounce another round up the feed ramp

Custom Carry

Got this one from a fellow CalGunner. Changed the trigger to a medium length, the ambi to a single and the flat MSH to an arched. It's just the way I like 'em.
