    Kel-Tec

Any of you have experience with this brand. I'm considering buying a PF-9. I didn't see Kel-Tec on the DOJ approved this. Can you still get them?

PF9 is not on the roster, so to get one it would have to be a face to face PPT, you'd have to be a LEO, get one from a shop doing single shot exemptions, or possibly a family transfer from an out of state relative of very specific relation to you.

^^^ what he said (specific family relation being a parent, grandparent, or child of yours and no other relations, e.g. brother doesn't work)

People like the Kel-Tecs but typically say they are picky about ammo. Very reliable with certain ammo, but wont feed others.

I have a P-11, and it has the worst trigger ever IMO, but it's also the most accurate 3" gun I've ever shot

Never had a Keltec before, but I traded off my Kahr PM9 and I can't justify the money for another Kahr so I went ahead and bought a PF9 , just picked it up from PRK as a SSE, but I still haven't shot it.

Quality is no where near a Kahr nor is the price, I figure it's worth the try, $349 from PRK (402 OTD ) and if I don't like it I'm sure I can get my money back out of it.

My son who's LEO just bought an all tan model for $320 OTD.

We also ordered some of their new extended mags.

lots of folks on keltec forums have feeding and extracting issues, but they say the Keltec customer svc is very good.

Ryan over at Table Rock Arms made a barrel for me about a month ago so I was able to get one. Trigger is not the greatest, but im happy with everything else. I also have the tan cerakote model.

I just got a PF9 and love it. As other's have said, it's trigger is no 1911, but everyone that has tried it has shot good groups. I got the Tan model which I think looks hot. Big thanks to the guys at Valkarie Arms Milpitas!

I can see getting the PF-9 because of the all-tan model, which definitely looks cool.

But... why is that gun so very popular and nobody seems to be buying the P-11 these days? The P-11 is actually a hair shorter in length and height but just a bit thicker (0.12"), and for that little bit of width you get 10+1 rounds (or 12+1) instead of 7+1. It's an ounce heavier. It doesn't have a light rail, but if you're carrying this gun I actually think that's better because it makes the thing smoother, sleeker, and rounder. Is the tenth of an inch really that big of a deal that everyone gets the PF-9?

...judging from pics and from holding both of them, the slide width and width of the frame under the slide is really freakin' close, and then the grip width is where most of the difference is. The PF-9 grip actually narrows compared to its slide and frame under the slide, whereas the P-11 stays the same thickness and is double- instead of single-stack.

I have a P-11, yes, it is surprisingly accurate and has been 100% reliable.
Do get the accessory trigger shoe, it helps a bunch.
If yours is an early one, maybe consider getting the 8 pound trigger spring as the real early springs were way too strong.

Ya I'd love to get my hands on a Tan PF-9. I'm not a LEO so I have no idea how I'm going to be able to make it happen. I see an all tan one on gunbroker for $250 which is a smoking deal.

I've used the trigger shoe, and it helps, I've thought about re-springing it, but I don't care all that much about a $200 gun...it works well for when I don't feel like carrying a 1911 just going to the mailboxes or the store, and it's accurate with the stock setup...I have been considering selling it though, since I originally bought it for my ex wife and she ended up liking my 1911's more

My father has a pf-9, it came from the factory with an "out of spec" trigger bar. It was a simple $6 fix, if I remember correctly. It is also ammo picky. It has very sharp recoil, the gun tends to want to leave the hand when shooting rapidly. It is still a great gun for CC.

I have a p-11 that is my warm weather CC gun, it is fantastic other than the trigger like others have said. It is quite a gun if you think about it, it holds 13 rounds of 9mm in a very small package. I love it, but have plans to replace it on my LTC.

I agree with this 100% God Awful Trigger. Nice little gun though overall but if I had to buy another compact I would look elsewhere. Mines has eaten all ammo i have fed it.
