There's a ton of choices out there for an all metal gun. A conversion kit will run you around $300, at least on a 1911 platform. With the remaining $900 you should be able to find a Springfield Loaded, a very nice gun.

FWIW, I love my SA Loaded. It's my new favorite.

I agree. I carry my CZ 75B SA all day without the slightest bit of discomfort.

Not trying to knock Sig, but if you want a 1911, get a traditional style 1911. The main reason I like the Springfield RO is that it doesn't have Front Cocking Serrations. The Springfields have the classic look and features, and the Sig is more of a hybrid. If I ever end up buying a 1911, it will more than likely be a Colt.

I understand your view on the front serrations. I do agree on the overall look. Not having much luck in locating a seller of the Springfield

                Springfield TRP

                TRP Light Rail Armory

Because there wasnt a Loaded NM available (within easy reach).

And it felt so good in my hand

                So Guess What

Sig 226 9mm with Sig rimfire conversion kit plus uograde the rimfire mag followers so it holds open after the last shot.

Any CZ75 9mm variant with CZ Kadet rimfire conversion kit. No upgrades needed as this thing is 100% as it comes from the factory.

I have both of those guns and conversion kits and I like them both very much.

I have Kimber conversion kit but I sold the 1911. I kept the conversion kit in case I get another 1911. This kit has been flawless even after few thousand rounds. I really like it and wish I had an aloy frame 1911 to use it on. I like how it shoots and feels so much that I might just buy a Kimber 1911 in 22lr. Alloy slide on an alloy frame makes for a very light weight pistol.

                    Good luck,

Supposedly there is issues if you switch the mainspring to a lower weight with the kadet kit, just a heads up.
