    Looking for .45 reccomendations.

    Recently I picked up a SW MP.45.

My brother went shooting with me and he now wants a .45. i did some research for myself before I bought my handgun but I wasn't that thurogh.

Pretty much I told him to check out

Glock 21 (i think he sshould get this one)
SW MP .45 (he really likes it just doesn't want the same gun as me)
    XD
    Springfield 1911

I told him I want a 1911 for my next semi-auto but that I probably won't get another semi-auto for some time to come. I need a revolver first

So, keep in mind I'd like to keep the reccomendations to under 700$. needs to be semi-auto. Also, he may not be able to pick it up for a month or so so Im not really looking for a "crazy deal", more or less looking for advice on a solid gun that maybe Im not aware of. I am new to gun ownership so Im not that experienced.

    Thanks!

EDIT::: Wanted to add that this is going to be a home defense gun, Probably not a lot of target practice going to happen with it.

    Thanks for all the reccomendations!!!

Tell him to get a Glock, the other choices are equally as good, but everyone has a glock for a reason

      Glock 21 no questions asked

      and here is why

I don't care what the other guys tell you no 1911 can do this. If your going to bet your life on it use your brain!

imo ... go to a range and rent a few different types and see what they each feels like... He will know the right one when He feels it...Money is not an issue in my mind if the weapon feels right...

Tell him to check out the Sig P220 while he is at it.

1911 or Sig p220 would be my choice. Have him go to the range and test fire a few of them and see what he likes.

I have a Springfield 1911 TRP and a Sig P220R. They've both been excellent guns!

Sigs are a better choice than any 1911 for self defense

When I'm ready for a .45, I'll probably go with the CZ 97, w/ a SAO conversion (flat trigger), w/ trigger job (around 2lbs) and comp hammer.

Factory price costs a little over $600.

I have a Glock 30SF, I'd probably suggest a Glock 21 as it's a bit easier to shoot accurately. 1911's are fun range guns, but for defense the Glock is hard to beat.
